That's a shame, great bout yesterday and was supposed to be on TV too. And a totally disrespectful post, considering Selby is such a nice lad.

whats disrespectful about it??? Its only my opinion, not a fact.
From what I hear, Yafai was advised to come in heavy but did his hand in the first fight and had to spend Friday night with the doctor when he should have been trying to boil down.
Went for a run and skipped for 90 minutes this morning but couldn't do the weight - hardly the actions of someone who didn't want to box.

I know the rule for the box off was decided before the worlds, but i feel a bit of justice has been done&im pleased for Selby, got to feel a bit sorry for Yafai who stayed amatuer after the last games to try to make it to 2012 but it wasnt to be..Surely he will turn pro now?

Some people are more suited to the pro game and from what i've seen of Yafai, i think he'll be one of them. I agree though and it'll be interesting to see who he goes pro with....... :bag:
good luck to the guy if and when he turn s pro shame about the weight makin :TU:

Turn it in Cardiff. He hurt his hand and spent the time at hospital getting it seen to instead of getting the weight off.

Plus, the commentators have said the scoreline was very flattering towards Selby and they thought there was 6/7 points in it max.

I read on twitter last night from one of the boxing journos that Yafai rocked Selby a couple of times and the scoreline flattered to deceive.

Gutted for the Frank O'Sullivan protege - would have loved to have seen a Brummie get an Olympic birth...

Why not start a witch hunt of the officials who scored the fight

Computerised scoring. Plus, we all know amateur scoring is bollocks.

Did the same person point out that Selby had Yafai down in the 1st round?!?!
The ref ruled it as a slip.

Look how this has all played out. I don't think anyone's against Selby or Yafai, but it's turned into a bitching contest. Could have been a simple 'well played Selby, better man won.'

FFS...he shouldn't have had to 'boil down'! He'd only just had a bout so surely could have stayed 'on it'.

I'm sure Yafai will have wanted to fight more than anything else though.

Skipped for 90 minutes? The owner of my gym has to take the rope off me after 5 minutes as I may use it for a noose due to severe boredom.

Yafai could stick in the amateurs in case Selby gets injured close to the Olympics. Final nomination to the British team doesn't have to be made til next summer.
