Having said that, Fury did ok against a poor opponent, despite getting dropped by a light hitter. Still has poor conditioning and he was gassing himself after 3 with all that mauling and grabbing. Still not convinced by this guy, I know Keith seems to think he will go all the way and given the way the division is, he could well do.
Is he, though, a talented, world class boxer? I don't think so, personally.
Good luck to him, anyways.
Mick's plan has to be try to get Fury 5 wins, throw him into a world title fight. Hope Eubank can be moved far enough along in the meantime to take over.
look at the recent studys about the long term effects of sub-concussive blows to the head, throw in a dash of Michael Watson and Gerald McClellen, and i think referees are spot on in erring on the side of caution.
It was a shocking stoppage. Its boxing not dominoes- the 8 count is there to give you an opportunity to recover- it seems that as soon as the favourite scores a knockdown officials are desperate to end preceedings. That was a decent shoot out last night- and we were robbed of a conclusive ending. I'd say Tyson was in far more trouble then the aussie at any stage.
If I was stopped under those circumstances i'd be absolutely fuming. Give boxers every opportunity I say- injuries don't come from late stoppages unless your poor beau jack.
Rushton, Ingle, Oliver, McClellon, etc etc were not in a position to be stopped at any stage other then at the conclusion of their bout. I can't think of one occasion in modern boxing where a late stoppage resulted in injury. I'm not saying I want to see guys getting pole axed left, right and centre but some of these stoppages border on farcicle. As a fighter- I want to give it my best shot and go out on my shield- not be rescued and spend the rest of my life wondering what if.

Wasnt Fury knocked down once and Pajkic twice?? Im fairly confident we were only seconds from a third knockdown too.
Leeds Lad - get a grip. Opinions are fine, personal attacks that relate to serious medical conditions that some people ACTUALLY have and die from go way way too far.
Just watched it again and the second nockdown looked like he was more off balance than anything ok a little buzzed.
Gets up fires back with a right hand and the ref stops it! 30 seconds to go. Bad ref for sure.

It's a shame that the current MODS on here allow it to be honest. Shameful
At the time I thought the stoppage was OKAY - but thinking about it, maybe it's all relative. Perphaps due to the fact that it wasn't a horrendous stoppage (like Eubank jr.) that is the norm in England, made me think the stoppage wasn't bad.
NOW and sober, we were robbed of a great fight ending. My wife had 12 woman around and I refused to go upstairs as I wanted to watch in HD, so I sat 5 inches away from the TV as I couldn't hear anything due to nattering and laughing, but I remember looking back in the 3rd and everyone was watching the bout - that's how incapsulating it was.
Pajkic was okay. Let him carry on. Fury wouldn't have been stopped in that position. Fact.

Agreed, i would have liked it to go on for one more KD but at the same time Nevin looked done to me. Fury had a off night and still came back from a heavy KD to beat his man in the next round and you can't ask for more then that.
i agree. it was a decent stoppage, what do you guys want? paramedics?
i agree mate only a quarter on ere have been in the ring mate so they dont know ill get back lash off this post but hey thats what i come on ere for the crack ha ha ha
Why do some of the pro fighters on here say "only a few have been in the ring". It's fornicating patronising. If you believe that the opions of non-boxers isn't valid, then pop along and create a new forum were Paul Smith can be a moderator.

Are you mentally disabled? You come onto a forum and try to get rises out of people in the morning to put a smile on your face? Never heard of a morning blowjob?
