I like watching Mitchell but he seems a bit quick with the excuses .

Reading that, i'd say he's more than a tad delusional :o

Banging on about how many times he's going to fight in the states, then come back to the UK for big stadium fights etc. Nothing wrong with believing in yourself, but he seems to think dominating the light-weight and light-welterwieght divisions is a given for him. Get your head out of the cornflakes mate!

I'd say there's more chance of him dating the queen

There's more chance of him being a queen. Remember the Katsidis poster?

Kevin Mitchell - " "But once I've conquered America I'll want to come back and box in London at places like The O2 or Upton Park.

"I like boxing in front of my own people and I don't want to end up staying in the States like a lot of British fighters do."

I'd certainly fancy him to beat Burns or Katsidis these days.

Not sure if he's physically big enough to ever make any waves at light welter though!

Agreed. He should stick at lightweight.

:o :?? :?? :??

Katsidis took him out with ease, he may have slipped since, but i'm more than confident he still has enough in the tank to hammer Mitchel again. Burns would have a field day with him!

Talk is cheap!

I thought he couldn't get a Visa for the States due to his out of the ring issues?

Surely he needs to get that cleared up before talking about fights over there?

Good luck to him, he did well against Murray and I would pay to see him against Burns.

I agree Ricky has far bigger and better challenges out there. However i think a fight with Mitchel is not such a bad idea for his next outing. It would be a comfortable win for Ricky, it would surely be a big event in the UK and would help to raise Ricky's profile even more before going after the real big fights at the weight. I'm sure it would also net him a good few quid aswell.

Billy, can you tell us anything about Ricky's next oponent at this stage, who's on the shortlist?

Sounds like there could be a pacman v marquez re-match next year. If this is the case, looks like marquez will have to vacate his lightweight belt leaving Ricky as the champion.

This could change who Burns faces

Cant see Mitchell fighting in the states, no way would they give him a working permit with his record.

Bradley Pryce got stopped from fighting on Calzaghe undercard due to his.

This made me smile a bit - Laryea only had to beat the mighty Paul Appleby to earn a shot at Burns! Cook didnt have to beat anyone.

I think people are going to be disappointed with Burns's next opponents. Warren wanted Arthur will tells you everything you need to know. We'll be looking at folk like Murray, Mitchell, Limond and Crolla I'm afraid not the big guns. Morrison is already talking up Limond which is an absolutely dire fight.

I dont think obtaining a visa to the USA is the biggest obstacle to him achieving his dreams, i'd say ability is the more likely scenario :DD

If his head is right he is good no question, you don't systematically destroy John Murray without being any good.

If he sorts his private life out, he can be great mate trust me.

No point him blaming Warren or clear the air talks. Isn't Mitchell's licence suspended? That's his fault. Who's fault was it getting caught with a knife in his car?

If Alex Arthur gets a shot at Burns, or even Limond that is a joke!

Imo if Mitchell can sort his head out he beats Burns.

Something tells me that as Arthur has turned the fight down and Limond will more than likely lose to Crolla then the person opposing Burns in his next bout will be Lee Mcallister. He will give a different sort of test and it will sell out in them area's. From a buisness stand point it makes perfect sense

Are you criticising his next opponent without one even being named? At least give them a chance :witzend:
