Billy Joe Saunders, Liam Smith, Stephen Smith and Joe Selkirk on show as well as others. Any idea of opponents etc??

Your joking why are they doing that? I was about to get tickets just read an article on this. This is very unprofessional annoucing a fight venue then not actually booking it.

On Twitter FW said due to unforeseen circumstances the Excel Arena could no longer stage the show. I wonder did they have it booked at all.

They'v said its because it clashes with the olympic testing there having at the excel that they'v already commited too, thats the reason for the change

Unsure but i'm guessing that they'll sell a lot more tickets in Liverpool with all the scousers boxing as opposed to London whereby it'll only be Groves and Degale fans mainly.....

I'd imagine they'll be a good turnout in Liverpool to see Stephen Smiths return....

Doubt it with the level of opponent Degale fighting. Both Groves and Degale are from London its seems a half baked moved as usual. Why annouce a fight for Excel if you never booked the venue very unprofessional!

Thats a dreadful opponent for Degale, he will have learnt something last time but then straight back to knockovers, back to back learning would have done him good, this is
really bad and one would guess the opponent for Groves will be of similar standard, Frank knows it will sell anyway with the scouse lads on the bill they always support there
fighters well.

Disappointing, I seem to remember a few months ago he was going on about his xmas extravangaza, this hardly fits the bill.

Regarding the Degale opponent, it was only ever gonna be a defence of his WBO inter continental belt as opposed to his European title so the opposition was never going to anything special.....plus he was in a tough fight 4 weeks ago too

I hear what you are saying about the tough fight recently and agree to a certain extent but this is really an opponent that Degale can get out of there when he wants, thats not what he needs, tough rounds without the threat of defeat is one thing but there is absolutely no chance Degale loses this fight, that cannot be any good for him other than bank balance wise.

There have to be better choices than this guy, whilst still with a minimum of risk, he will learn more in the gym than he learns in this fight, its bordering on worthless from the point of view
of him getting anything out of it in a learning capacity.

Brought 5 tickets yesterday for £80 each expecting it to be in london. Going to have to see if I can get a refund now as I cant afford to go up to liverpool this close to christmas. Not happy

My expectations of the next 12 months for Allegedly Channel are;

First 1-2 months- impressive matches for free. Appleby - Walsh was a sure fire classic and it was a clever match to kick things off in a positive light. certainly capture the interest of the general uk boxing public.

Month 3-6- charges come into play- as an estimate 60-80% go for the subscription on the basis that most weeks there is at least one match of note. Presumably 1-2 big international matches for the hardcore and fwp crossing there fingers and toes that bellow-clev and burns- kats produces credible winners so they can start attempting to flog the channel to pubs etc-

Month 6-9 - Allegedly Channel introduces small hall promoters such as Steve wood, fearon. Goodwin etc etc... This brings in new fans as locals part with their hard earned to try and catch their pals in action. The use of these smaller promoters will allow fwp and queensbury to start to pull back a bit on the stiff matchmaking. No doubt the Olympic boxing will make an appearance further fleshing out the content.

Months 10-12- Olympians signed, people no accustomed to paying the £10 fwp returns to his pre Allegedly channel matchmaking policy. Fairly decent fights top the bills as a handful of undercard fighters +1 every week. Things return to 'normal' in terms of match making- and now with an established channel fwp can make whatever fight it sees fit with little or no scrutiny. It's only £10 we'll keep telling ourselves.

That's how I think things will go- I look forward to seeing the numbers Allegedly Channel can draw. I think it will do ok actually- is Allegedly Channel good for the future of the sport? That's massively debatable. How is it going to bring anyone new to it? With a promoter who is particularly unhappy about criticism then who is going to tell him when something's not going well? Certainly no one on the pay roll and I don't get the impression they will be checking on here once things have began to snowball for the channel.

The days of eubank and benn couldn't be further away as long as this channel exists. All that talent hidden away on a private, non sky cable channel. Nightmarish that my kids won't have a Nigel benn, or anaseem named to look up to.

The balls in sky's court now! I think they should take a really hard line with regards to matchmaking and world tidles now. Let Allegedly channel be the wkd, and try and be champagne. Once again if anyone from the board can put me in touch with rob smith I'd greatly appreciate it- I have a sincerely brilliant idea which will fit in perfectly with this rehaul of uk boxing.

Couldn't agree more Jeff, this is pretty much what i've been saying from the start.
Sky are fighting back signing up Khan and already have Froch and Brook. They have even started getting some international fights.

I half like the fight- Mendy is decent but no where near established at the suppposed world class of george groves. Look at least their in action again thats the best that can be said.

To echo what everyone else is saying, this opponent for Degale is an absolute joke.

These are the sort of fights that will make him go backwards. If there is to be a rematch with Groves eventually, he needs to be prepared. We all know Groves will be matched competitively and so he learns, coz that's the Adam Booth way. With Degale fighting no-hopers like this, he'll get exposed when the rematch eventually happens or whenever he steps up against anyone half-decent. Haven't you learnt from the Khan/Prescott disaster Fwank? Matching people in this way does no good for the boxer, you the promoter (as they'll end up jumping ship), or us the fans.

Shocking opponent - shame on you... Sort it out!
