Moses Kinyua Update

For all of you that took an interest in Kenyan Flyweight Moses Kinyua when he was last over here in UK here is an update.

Moses has been invited back to the UK by my father and me. He is now living in Bristol and has joined our stable. Moses will also be cheif sparring partner for Lee Haskins (Its very hard to find Flyweight Sparring!). He is also helping run our gym and train the young amatuers at the Empire ABC club we have here.

He is continuing to try to raise money for his youth projects in Kenya here from England where he has more chance to earn money and raise funds. Now he is here in UK we should be able to get the donations part of his website http://www.moseskinyua.com sorted soon - I will speak with Kev @ BB.net. We are also planning to send some parcels back to Kenya for the kids and the local gym.

Moses is sheduled to box on our dinner show here in Bristol on 02 Sept.

Did you ever get much interest from the various stories run on moses?

Nice work Jamie, Looks as if the flyweight division could be getting good , Dale Robinson is looking to get back down to that weight as well.
How far do you think Haskins can go?

There was a positive response to Moses story mostly from fight fans.

Lee Haskins is very strong for his weight. He has not really been tested in his 12 pro fights (which is credit to him!) apart from Moses who took him the distance. Working day to day with Moses will definatley help his development. He is only 22 and has a lot to learn but does have bags of natural talent. In a similar fashion to Hamed and Witter he is elusive and throws shot from all angles with bad intentions.

I think a lot of questions of how far Lee can go will be answered when he boxes Sithembele Kibiti for the Commonwealth Title which you guys will be able to see for yourselves live on SKY!

I think Lee can go far................time will tell.

Agree with your points, I think at times he became frustrated against Moses because he couldn't get rid of him.

Certainly packs a wallop for a little fella, what do you feed them in West?. What with Lee and old Dynamite hands Dann.

Is Dann still fighting Elcock?. His knuckle looked a right mess when I spoke to Wayne a couple of weeks back.

What do you know about Kibiti? Has been scheduled for a few twelve rounders.

Yes Dann is boxing Elcock. Word from the Elcock camp is they are ready.

Kibiti was really the only option for Lee in the list of Commonwealth contenders as the other fighters were either boxing for other belts or could not make the weight. He is definatley a step up in class but when you start to challenge for legitamate titles you have to beat good fighters. Its a great opportunity for Haskins to showcase on SKY.

The show is on Friday 16th Sept, Plymouth Pavilions, Live on Friday Fight Night SKY Sports 1 22.00.

credit to the aussies for that.

they have single handedly turned test cricket from a sometimes boring game to a great game in ten years.

tho having said that last time i went to the oval we saw za score 350-1 opn the first day

Moses will probably box around bantamweight for the fight on 2/9/05 but relly for championship fights he is a Flyweight. Not opponent yet.

If you like boxers who are lean and mean, then you'll like Haskins. He's not one to take prisoners from what I've seen of him.
