I must admit I thought the ref was pro Pitt and reffed poorly. Pitt kept clinching like a thai kickboxer.

I also think Pit was looking for a DQ win after the shot to the back of his head. I know he fought on but I think if he thought he could of got the DQ win he would have. Just my opinion though.

Oganov tried to claim a headbutt. How do you get headbutted by somebody 5 inches taller than you?

i'd like to see both fight someone else very shortly then do it again early in the new year.

Oganov has some really exciting fights under his belt....Bolling was a top 5 fight of the year, and this certainly was a toe to toe spectacle, Taliepai another.

Lucky to get ur 5 minutes pitt u whimpppp.. unlucky victor u russian tank :DDD
Pitt is a wimp and the bloke that quit cold is a hero? Get over yourself. The referee ordered the five minute break which is usual after a low blow.

u knew damn well that pitt and his corner were looking for a disq. so he didn't have to continue. he was FRIGGED, BUGGERED AND not far from QUEER STREET.

yes he was allowed the 5 minutes, yes oganov shouldn't have blatently fouled, but pitt won the lottery by being hit in the back of the head at that point. he could hardly stand up.

pitt would learn from this fight more than most of his other fights put together.

its no shame getting rocked by one of oganov's bombs, but the point is he shouldn't have been caught by as many as he did.

still adament a rematch would be good for both guys, and would put bums on seats too.

Wow, i didnt catch the fight, but was Pitt really that bad?

Oganov hits hard, and not many people could take a punch from him, i didnt think Pitt would get caught flush with one though...

Pitt has no heart he wanted the easy way out after oganov tapped himm behind the side of the head.. pitts a good actor give him that , and his corner seemed to do more refereeing than the ref.. if he didn't get his 5 mins he would have been knocked out cold..

If you remembered Tony Mundine's time, more than one fighter got a five minute break after Tony hit him in the nuts. It is the rule.

See if you can get to see a replay and judge for yourself. There are some definite loonies on this thread. Oganov was stopped in five rounds.
How could the other fighter be bad?

I do not know why anybody would be surprised at Oganov losing at cruiserweight. he was beaten four times as a super middleweight including being knocked out three times then he decides to take on the big boys. He was definitely overweight the other night.

being ignorant brute i see.

u refuse to admit that oganov was fighting pitt and the ref.
pitt won the lottery by getting the win.
pitt was tagged way too many times by a midget who's best years r gone.
pitt and his corner were looking for disqualification so he could quit.

but yes it was still a good effort to get the win in the end.

and some people were adament that pitt would beat green, lol.

To call Pitt a wimp is ludicrous. He was hit with some bombs that would have knocked many out for the full ten count, but kept fighting....yes he got rocked in this fight and I believe he was very very fortunate to have the ref he had. BUT dont call the guy a wimp. To do this just shows the level of intelligence you have for the sport.

I definitely have to watch a replay of this fight, i want to join the debate.

I do agree with some of the posts on this thread, but some are just plain stupid, especially the ones who are completely brushing Pitt off based on this one fight. Apart from his corner and officials, surely Pitt's performance couldnt of been that poor to say he has no heart, a whimp and to call him an "Actor".

well those that actually watched it could see CLEARLY that pitt was looking for a way out.

his corner carrying on like pork chops were just flustered because their fighter was in big trouble. they should have been looking in the mirror to see who they should have aimed their verball barrage at.

but pitt will learn plenty from the fight, and its just the sort of scare he needs at this stage to make him a better fighter for the future.

anyone agree?

Just finished watching the fight, i now know 3 things, 1: Pitt is not a an actor, he was clearly hurt. 2: He is definitely not a whimp, he put himself together and turned the fight around. 3: Pitt has plenty of heart, he absorbed some punches that wouldve floored most.

IMO, I didnt think Pitt wouldve got knocked out if he didnt get the little break after the knock down, he was still hurt bad after the timeout and still managed to turn it around and hurt Oganov in the same round.

Oganov landed some pretty sweet left hooks(which were answered), Pitt has fast hands but he needs to hold that right hand higher, i really do hope he learns from this fight.

What was the go with Oganov stopping in round 2 because something was wrong with his eye?

He walked over to his corner to clear out his eye as if it were sparring...
A rematch would be great!

sorry, but i don't think u r being objective at all.

he was stuffed, and wanted out when he thought he had an opportunity to do so. he could barely stand up properly, was wobbly on his feet.

but the fact that oganov was the one who hit him in the back of his head is not his fault. he just took advantage of the rules as they r. but he and his corner were trying for a disqualification.

but yes he did the job eventually.

Here is a copy of rules relating to above., which I've had for quite some time. As it stands, ref's action/decision was according to Victoria's rules & regs

Pitt defiantly not a whimp tough as. Yeh shocking ref but i actually think before the blatant foul i think Pitt was really getting on top and may have put him away.and technically i don't think Pitt knock down was right. Yes clearly he was hurt on hisfeet then pushed down.i think Pitt done well to come back from some massive punchers. I would never call any boxer a whimp.Oganov is the one who had enough.yes Pitt made a lot of mistakes and will learn so much from that.if that was one of his bad performance look out when he puts in a good one

Hate to have seen what Oganov could do if he trained for 12 rounds rather than 3 those bombs WOW.

Are you Oganov's parish priest or something? He tried to monster Pitt and failed, it is that simple.

Sorry to say, IMO Pitt was looking for a DQ win 'cos it wasn't a good night @ the office as envisaged
2nd blow to back of the head (accidental) didn't meet his acting ability.
I'll have look at first (frame by frame) tomorrow.

In the event you watch it again......turn off the sound, so your judgement ain't influenced by commentators
