Must be bad if the WBA won't sanction something.

In saying that, Ricky getting him the Alvarez shot leaves him firmly in credit for a while.

Seems strange they could not get the fight made.

He's got a fair point about Alvarez fight could have been a springboard and all he's had since is a fight in Blackpool, not quite progress is it.

Why didn't the WBA sanction this fight? Hatton is ranked 9th in the WBA rankings.

Ismael El Massoudi is not rated in the WBA top 15, there is no way they were ever going to sanction this for the interim World title.
El Massoudi is already the Interim WBA champion.

Yeah you're right, just checked and didn't notice he was Interim champ...never heard of him before.

I guess the WBA have probably had a request from a higher ranked boxer who wants to fight for the interim.

Maybe the fact that he was completely dominated by Alvarez would explain why it hasn't been a "springboard"?

Let's be honest, he is a decent fighter but nothing like world-class. He owes his big bro a lot so he should think about that before he starts slagging him or his promotional company off in public.

Isn't a champion allowed to pick any ranked fighter for a voluntary defence?
