Alberto came away with a 6 round points win, which confirms that Billy's management certainly picked their man for an easy title defence.
The IBF rated Servidei no 8 contender for their featherweight title. Are you sure they did not order Dib to fight him? If he was cherry picked, wouldn't Dib have tried to make him look better by not taking him earlier?

It's sometimes hard to know in advance that they are just coming for a payday.
This guys record, on paper, looked good; even with the constant devaluation of titles over the last 25 years, they still don't give EBU titles out at the bottom of cornflakes packets.
Sure, he bailed out early but it was a decent shot that put him over and he'd perhaps seen enough to know he was on a hiding to nothing. Not Churchillian stuff but it's not unknown for an import to give just enough to ensure he gets paid and no more.
If Servidei had got up he would have only postponed the inevitable. Dib was way too good for him.
As for the first round KO disappointing people who attended, nobody used to complain when Mike Tyson knocked out most of his opponents in early rounds.

I think the right hand to the head that had Servedei down did all the damage, He was still shaky when Dib hit him with the body shot that stopped the fight. Alberto may have been able to beat the count but he would have struggled to see out the first round regardless IMO.
Impressive win by Billy, He has really improved under Billy Hussien. Far more aggressive, Less showboating.
Congrats Benno on getting a gig on the big stage !! Billy has looked very good and much more aggressive in his last few bouts. the one that stood out to me was at the Italian club here in Perth against a Phillipino fellow. His style is much more viewer friendly and from all accounts he is packing some decent power. If the John n fight can be mad it would be great but i think they would have to come up with some pretty wealthy backers.

BILLY Dib will need to find $700,000 if he wants to fight Indonesian superstar Chris John - whose team have dismissed the Sydney featherweight as a "nothing" proposition.
Having retained his IBF world title with a stunning first-round knockout of Alberto Servidei last Saturday night, Dib is now gunning for a unification bout with John - the undefeated WBA Super Champion whose incredible run stretches 14 years, 47 fights and 15 straight title defences.
Speaking with The Daily Telegraph from Las Vegas yesterday, John's adviser Sampson Lewkowicz said his charge would not simply be goaded into a unification bout with the Aussie.
"Because what does Billy Dib bring to the table?" the American agent fired. "I really like the guy but he means absolutely nothing here in America.
"He talks about changing his style, of becoming more exciting, but you can't take the stripes from a zebra. It's why networks like HBO won't touch him.
"If Billy beats Chris it means everything to him. But if Chris beats Billy ... with all respect it means absolutely nothing."
Lewkowicz said John earns $500,000 per fight in Indonesia - with even the legendary Juan Manuel Marquez among his many victims.
"So if Team Dib want us in their backyard it'll require a lot more than that," he continued. "Unfortunately the only fighters who make that sort of money in Australia are named Green and Mundine. But let's wait and see what they come up with. Billy knows my number."
Asked about the hefty price tag placed on a unification bout with John, Dib's manager Michael Karagiannis still rated the fight "a 70 per cent chance".
"Where else has Chris John got to go?" Karagiannis asked. "He says Billy is a nothing proposition yet Billy has the IBF belt. It won't happen for $700,000. Won't happen for $500,000. But does Chris want to retire with one belt or will he have a go at winning two?"
Karagiannis also bristled at suggestions his charge was not compatible for TV adding: "How many times has Chris John been shown live on American TV?"
Boxing's longest-reigning active title holder, John ,will be defending his strap in Perth next Wednesday night - as part of the massive card which peaks with the WBC blockbuster between Danny Green and Krzysztof Wlodarczyk.
According to respected ESPN columnist Dan Rafael, the Indonesian is currently the second best featherweight on the planet - behind only Yuriorkis Gamboa. Dib does not sit inside his top 10.
Ring magazine, however, has John at two and Dib at 10.
Sunday, March 1 1992 Fenech lost his second fight against Azumah Nelson at Princes Park. Kostya Tszyu KOed Darrell Hiles in the first in his pro debut
on the same program.
I would be very surpirsed if John gets anywhere near 500k or 700k per fight in Indo.
Some time ago if Dib came up with 200k they would have fought him, so now another half million when he holds a title. Basically, with the money that could be generated Billy would fight for next to nothing.
I am a fan of both guys, Chris deserves the utmost respect for holding and defending his title for so long and Billy holds one of the more sought after titles. Maybe a 60 - 40 split is fair, but I think to ask 700k means this fight wont happen.
So what would Billy have to come up with to fight Chris in Indo ?? I dont recall seeing Chris on too many cards in the USA. I hardly think it would be anywhere near the 700k, maybe not even 200K....but I think he'd have to KO John to win the title.
Lets hope this can be made, because if marketed correctly this would be huge for Australian boxing.
