Boxing Monthly Free Calendar - P4P?

Post by Glyn Leach »

As usual we'll be giving away a free calendar with the Jan issue of BM (out 15 Dec) and someone on Twitter suggested a P4P theme, a Top 12. Like the idea? What would your P4P Top 12 be?

1.Floyd Mayweather (his win over Marquez looks better and better)
2.Manny Pacquaio (still an amazing fighter)
3.Juan Manuel Marquez (who I thought beat Pacquaio.Again)
4.Bernard Hopkins (a class guy who knows his way round the ring and has beaten some very accomplished fighters)
5.Vitali Klitschko
6.Wladimir Klitschko (both brothers just keep on winning)
7. Sergio Martinez (a bit over rated, but still very good, if that makes sense?)
8. Andre Ward ( I think he might just edge Froch)
9. Carl Froch ( I thought he lost to Kessler but has it in him to win the rematch)
10. Lucian Bute (still a bit unknown but my instinct is that he will do well in the acid tests)
11. Amir Khan (getting better and better...still a bit vulnerable though
12. Nonito Donaire (really good, but not top 5 quality)

How about a journeyman calendar? We see pictures of Pacquiao and Mayweather etc all the time.
Why not have the likes of Johnny Greaves, Hastings Rasani and Youssef Al Hamidi as our pin up boys for 2012?

I hate PFP as an overall concept, particularly the emphasis the Americans put on it, it's so retarded but why not do:

Top 5 PFP worldwide (in no order, I think most sane people would pick the same 4-5 boxers)
Top 5 PFP UK (ditto)
Couple of decent action shots from the year, you know the sort - Someone laid out or their face contorted.

That's 12.

Wprks for me but with the spare 2 shots going to, say, Anthony Joshua and Katie Taylor.

Between these and the ones on Twitter, only one includes McCloskey. Is that right?

I'd be up for a ringcard girl calendar but sorry, ours are rope compared to America and UFC pisses all over boxing, their ring girls look like they do sit ups and stuff

The ones were have here are a real mixed bag, obviously the majority are from the local strip club they're advertising so the further afield you go and the smaller the town, the shallower the gene pool (although there was one tidy one at the Hall/McD show but she was clearly not from here!).

I always used to scratch my head at the one they used to wheel out week inweek out on the FW ITV shows (and later, SKY) she literally had the face of a horse. I think most people know the one I'm referring to.

There was a proper little spacehopper on a allegedly show recently, round as she was tall
