I'd rather see Fury fight him, at least it would be fun while it lasted.
Re: Haye v Vitali...
Yes that's what i'm hearing. They've agreed on the financials so it's definately happening now, press conference will be called in early December to officially announce it.MIG wrote:David Haye v Vitali Klitschko, March 3, 2012, Dusseldorf, Germany.

Manny Steward sums it up, though: "Oh, no. I hope this doesn’t happen. David doesn't deserve it. His performance against Wladimir was terrible, appalling."
i dont doubt it will happen eventually , just dont see it yet thats all .
Re: Haye v Vitali...
Great. Another chance for Haye to con millions of idiots out of 2-3 hours wages.
Re: Haye v Vitali...
I don't get what the con is. Right here, right now if I was asked to pay £15 for Haye v Vitali would I do so? Certainly. Maybe I'm a mug, but it's a fight I'd like to see. In fact there is not a single other fight at heavyweight I'd like to see more (except probably Tyson Fury v David Price!).Karl Jade wrote:Great. The mugs are those that watch and listen to all the BS hype in the build up and get all put out when the fight doesn't turn out exactly as the fighters said that it would.
Re: Haye v Vitali...
I think if this does happen (i'm hoping so) David will go for broke this time.
I want to see the David Haye that was pacing up and down the ring like before the Enzo Mac fight all business and aggression.
His ego is to big to go out the way it has and he will want to redeem himself, he cant help it hes that sort of character

Re: Haye v Vitali...
You're not going to see that mate. Wlad clearly intimidated him in the lead up to that fight, Vitali will have him completely shitting himself. If it comes off, you'll see the same dull as fornicate tactic of running away and occasionally throwing a punch tactic as in the Valuev and Wlad fights. That's the tactic for fighting taller fighters that the "master of strategy" came up with.Spiker wrote:I think if this does happen (i'm hoping so) David will go for broke this time.

Re: Haye v Vitali...
Really hope this happens and that Haye goes out on his shield if he loses this time rather than with a whimper like last time. I'd be tempted to go given that it is only 4 days before my birthday but I spent an absolute fortune going to the Wlad one and obviously that was a huge let down. On that basis I'd be watching on Sky but hope Haye wins.

Re: Haye v Vitali...
I aint sure (apart from the paritsan British angle) why people would want to support a guy who has just retired, declared he knew he wasn't going down as the greatest heavyweight of all time, to win. If Haye sparks Vitali - he retires again.... and the heavyweight devision is in a bigger mess than it is currently.
I want a hungary, up and comer with ambition to beat Vitali - not someone who uses retirement as a bargaining tool.

Look at the Boxrec ratings. Heavies under the age of 30 in the Top 50 right now are:
3 - Robert Helenius
6 - Eddie Chambers
7 - Tyson Fury
9 - Alexander Dimitrenko
22 - Dereck Chisora
28 - Sam Sexton
29 - Mike Perez
30 - Johnathan Banks
32 - Manual Charr
34 - Denis Boytsov
37 - Ondrezj Pala
39 - Francesco Pianeta
42 - Seth Mitchell
48 - David Price
50 - Edmund Gerber
Would you pick any of these guys as deserving of a shot against Vitali?
If Haye sparks Vitali, retirement will be the last thing on his mind with the prospect of a huge Unification / revenge match with little brother.

Exactly and also there is nobody there that Haye couldnt beat!earsjohn wrote:But there aren't any hungry up and comers.stujones wrote:I aint sure (apart from the paritsan British angle) why people would want to support a guy who has just retired, declared he knew he wasn't going down as the greatest heavyweight of all time, to win. If you dont like it, dont effin watch it.
I dont know what people are moaning about, Haye v Vitali is the biggest fight out there for the heavyweight division. Even if you think Vitali will demolish him, Haye is still the biggest threat out there, so it makes sense, who else would you rather see Vitali fight, honestly?
I really hope Haye does not talk himself out of a deal here. He has an opportunity to redeem himself and should take whatever he can get as the chance wont come again.
To the fight itself, Vitali is slower than Wlad, both in foot movement and hand speed. He carries his hands lower than his younger brother, and is more agressive in opening up, all of which could play in Haye's favour. I give him a better chance at getting his shots of against Vitali, which would at least make the fight entertaining. Still, its hard to imagine him KO'ing Vitali.

Agreed - 1. Theer are very view contenders of any value out there 2. the hype will still be very big 3. Vitali could age overnight. He's looking old these daysALI wrote:If you dont like it, dont effin watch it.

Although Vitali is tougher than Wladimir, he might actually be more suited to Haye due to his lack of speed & mobility in comparision to Wladimir.
I still expect Vitali to win, but I believe Haye will give a better account of himself.

Re: Haye v Vitali...
Haye has been going on about getting out of boxing with his faculties intact. The weird thing is with this one, it'll actually be better for Haye's health if he does go out on his shield, he either gets KO'd quick lunging in (less permanent damage) or gets the kind of sickening Vitali-beatdown that has lasting effects, if he chooses to stay on the outside.
Father time really has to have caught up with Vitali for him to lose this.
I keep thinking back to that thunderous uppercut from Lewis that didn't drop Vitali, not to mention those flush shots he shipped against Corrie Sanders. Haye really has no chance of hurting him on that evidence.
I really wish Haye had been competing in an era with smaller top heavyweights around like Holyfield, Mercer, Ruddock, et al. He wouldn't have beaten many of them but he would have given anyone his size problems at least.

What should Haye's tactics against Vitali be?
Well it looks like the fight is going to happen on March 3rd in Germany. Whether you are in favour of the fight being made or not and regardless of your feelings about Haye, what do you think is the best way he can win the fight?
I'm fairly split on this.
On the one hand it seems like an impossible task to stop Vitali and therefore taking an ultra-aggressive approach and trying to blast him out inside the first few rounds would appear foolish and way too risky given the power Vitali also possesses. However at the same time, given that the fight is in Germany and given the fact that Vitali is a better technical boxer than Haye and coupled with his obvious height, weight and reach advantages, I can't see that an in and out, box and move approach would work either as I don't think that he would be able to execute this across an entire fight despite his speed advantage.
All in all, it is a huge task that faces Haye and in reality he probably can't win the fight but I feel that the only way to give himself any sort of chance is to come out swinging bombs. I appreciate that this is unlikely to happen or work if he did adopt this tactic but I don't really see any other way he can win. He should have adopted those tactics against Wlad and I wonder whether Booth will implore him to be much more aggressive this time around.
Thoughts?

Vitali's legs are a bit stiff. In theory, Haye could do a smash and grab him, but its not a theory i'll be subscribing to this time.Riddick Blowe wrote:Haye has been going on about getting out of boxing with his faculties intact.
