I believe you have Argentine middleweight Rocky Rivero, who fought in a number of fights nationally televised in the United States in the '60s, listed twice:
Juan Carlos Rivero (13506) 56-21-3
Rocky Rivero (327393) 0-1
The records should be merged.
Argentine middleweight Juan Carlos "Rocky" Rivero
Re: Argentine middleweight Juan Carlos "Rocky" Rivero
What about the weight discrepancy? Rivero weighed in at about 80 kgs. in 68-69, while Nate Williams had got around 10 or 15 kgs. less... :( But me personally, I think they are the same...
Re: Argentine middleweight Juan Carlos "Rocky" Rivero
There night not have been much of a weight difference, if any.
If you look at the listing for Juan Carlos Rivero (the Rocky Rivero who fought on American TV numerous times), you'll see he dropped back down to middleweight for his last listed fight- versus Charley Austin- 0n 8/19/69.
The Williams fight took place 8 days later.
Williams also fought twice in August of 1969, having outpointed junior middleweight Joe Adams on August 13.
His (Williams') bout after the Rivero fight was against middleweight Benny Barra on 9/17/69.
Williams' biggest win came on April 29, 1970 in a middleweight bout versus former world junior middleweight champion Denny Moyer.
