Great British boxing moments
Too much negativity out there - what are the greatest moments in the history of British boxing ? Domestic favourite moments too-
One of my fondest memories was herol Graham's highly criticised comeback ending with a victory over the world class chris Johnson and a heartbreaker vs Charles brewer ! Great moments

Danny Williams doing Mark Potter with one arm was pretty special.

Re: Great British boxing moments
Bazza beating the old Wily dog Pedrosa is my fav' night.
As mentioned above too, the night Bruno won the belt was so emotional, I remeber the last cpl of rounds clear as day, everyone where I was were cheering him on like we were all ringside. The last 20 seconds when he was almost at the finishing line was incredible, the crowd, then when the announcement came, and his tearful speech - wonderful wonderful night.

Johnny Nelson defeating Carl Thompson.
Naseem defeating Steve Robinson.
Ryan Rhodes beating Silky Jones, Gary Woolcombe and Jamie Moore.
Buster Keeton beating Gary Delaney and Lee Swaby.
John Thaxton beating Juan Diaz.
Won't mean a deal to most but great times for me personally.

Lennox Lewis' career was great for british boxing......period.
Re: Great British boxing moments
Its quite a populist choice but the night Hatton beat Tszyu was pretty special. There was an intensity about Ricky that night that meant he wasn't going to get beaten and it was a fantastic atmosphere, not repeated here since.

Re: Great British boxing moments
Benn v Eubank I was a classic British fight with a great build up.
Benn v Eubank II was a bit of a let down in comparison but the build up to this one was even better than the first.

You may think this odd, but one of my favourite moments was when Duke McKenzie won his first world title.
also Paul Hodkinson beating Villasana, Kirkland Laing beating Antoine Fernandez for the EBU title and the interview afterwards.

Re: Great British boxing moments
agree with jeff the herol graham comeback after the jackson kalambay frank grant etc losses was amazing didnt think he got enough credit coming back after many years away written off by all he got knocked out in sparring by a young howard eastman as well during this period.....after his first comeback fight his coach told him to stop he looked a shadow of his former self but he continued won against pazienza johnson and yes after putting brewer down twice in the 3rd round ran out of gas in the 10th and got stopped - heartbreaking game this boxing enjoying his book at the moment what a fighter wish hed been managed differently had 40 wins before he lost narrowly to mccallum
