congratulations murray?

Post by davie »

before i hear the result, i had murray up by 2 maybe 3.

we know it doesn't always work like that.

but macklin must be kicking himself. this is a genuine world class operator, coming to the end of his career.

macklin was a couple close rounds from beating him. (debatably)

and murray has taken it.......IMHO!

I had Sturm winning by two. Good fight and great effort from both men.

same as me mate, i just though Sturm landed a bit more quality in the close rounds, but i can see how the rounds could of been scored for Murray.
Murray gave a great effort, and showed he deserved to be at this level

maybe i've done what i always do, get a few beers in me and judge the fight with my heart over my head. but the effort and the heart counted for me.

one conclusion i must meet. after watching murray, macklin and barker recently. i suspect world level operators will stop looking to brittish shores for easy title defences. none of the 3 of the guys i mentioned there were considered in the same class as martinez or sturm, but the perfomances were terrific

I had it to Sturm by one, but there were so many swing rounds in that fight. Macklin must be seething, he done more than Murray in that fight and still lost.

Try reading through the PBP thread here and in the Current Scene. What you're saying is not true at all. Suggestions that this was a robbery are laughable and biased.

Seconded. And like I said in the other thread here the scorecards were very fair, it was a close fight, one judge each had it close to one guy and one had it a draw.

I had it 116-115 murray, a draw in germany means the away fighter won

How could have the away fighter won if the fight was a draw?

A close decison for either fighter would have been fair.

Sturm + Brit = entertaining and competitive fight

I thought it was a draw. Jim Watts scorecard was fair until the last round which I thought Sturm won. Think he was dying to give it to Murray.

well done martin murray.did everyone very proud.i think if martin had been busier in the earlier rounds he could have won the fight,as oliver harrison said.
not many get world title draws in germany.i was suprised at that, and thought sturm would get a close decision win.thought most rounds were very close and a fair result in the end.murray didnt really complain either.
