Nice piece. But why does Chisora have a large plaster on his head?

17st 5lbs - he has a good chance!
Re: Chisora pushes it at weigh in
243?
18 pounds lighter than he was for Fury. Got to respect that.

Re: Chisora pushes it at weigh in
Chisora looked in very good shape. Helenius is a big lump - I could have used step ladders talking to him. This could be a great fight
Re: Chisora pushes it at weigh in
Chisora will spark this man out, you watch
Re: Chisora pushes it at weigh in
I am putting money on it. I think people are judging DelBoy on the Fury fight. He was carrying a small child in the ring with him and Fury still couldnt hurt him.jessi wrote:Chisora will spark this man out, you watch

Re: Chisora pushes it at weigh in
My God our standards have dropped for what qualifies as 'in shape'. He's 6'1'' and TWO HUNDRED & FORTY THREE POUNDS.
How is that in shape?
He weighs more than the giant (and always fleshy) Robert Helenius!
At his size the man would have to be around 220lb or less to be considered absolutely fighting fit.
Helenius to win via another crushing kayo. Bye fat boy.

Yeah - Chisora only gets mouthy when he's got easy touches like Helenius and Wlad in front of him at press conferences.Eddy wrote:Funny how quite he was in the weigh in and build up with a very confident fighter in Fury. "Del Boy" was like a church mouse, you could him him clapping it! Now he's pipe'n up and giving it the big 'un. Prick!

Re: Chisora pushes it at weigh in
Chisora may not be particularly tall by modern heavyweight standards but he is an absolutely huge man. His shoulders are extremely broad and he has giant hands and feet.loaded_gloves wrote:My God our standards have dropped for what qualifies as 'in shape'. Re: Chisora pushes it at weigh in
Sonny Liston was bigger than Chisora in every way and had much longer reach but he never scaled in at a whopping 243 - there's no point making excuses for that sort of weight.
He's just a modern heavyweight. Fat, slow, poor. Weight & 'strength' (fat) is all important now. Quality of fights or fighters is not.

He's 243 - that's ludicrous for his size.
Re: Chisora pushes it at weigh in
If most of that weight was in his legs would you still be saying that?

Re: Chisora pushes it at weigh in
If most of his 243 was in his legs he'd look deformed.
Why people defend fat heavies I just do not understand.

Why do people think that being in better shape than your last fight = being in shape?

Re: Chisora pushes it at weigh in
He looks like a man carrying lots of excess weight in both pics.
The reason for that is, he is carrying excess weight at either 243 or 260.
One things evident - that weight is not 'in his legs'.

Re: Chisora pushes it at weigh in
he is still heavy and wont get anywhere near Helenius...altho hed have a chance in the Fury rematch
Re: Chisora pushes it at weigh in
He can go 12 rounds at 240-245 no problem. Don't see the problem with that weight.
Re: Chisora pushes it at weigh in
Sonny Liston - the same guy who after 3 rounds with Ali in there first fight was moving like he 'was walking in quicksand' and after 6 rounds 'looked like a 100 boxing years' and exhausted (despite the advantage of having 'allegedy' blinded Ali with ointment on his gloves') You could have used a better example. Weight, fitness and stamina are different things.loaded_gloves wrote:Sonny Liston was bigger than Chisora in every way and had much longer reach but he never scaled in at a whopping 243 - there's no point making excuses for that sort of weight.

But, yeah, fair enough - I would revise that to good shape than 'very good shape'. Del Boys legs look like tree trunks, he had pretty good muscle definition at the weigh in today imo.

Re: Chisora pushes it at weigh in
Oh good god. You're singling out the fight when Sonny Liston took on the finest heavyweight who ever existed to try contest the shape he was in?
And you think Chisora weighing over 20lbs more than Liston somehow makes him better?
I can't fathom your thinking.
How would Chisora do vs a peak Muhammad Ali? Or, for that matter, ANY Ali? How would he do vs Holmes? Christ, he couldn't take out a chinny, unmissable whale in Tyson Fury. I don't think this is a conversation I want to engage in.
