I just can't see how the channel will be viable. I really want to see tonight's fights - well, I'll live without Povetkin-Boswell - but I'm tired of having to put my hand in my pocket to follow the sport. Without fans watching boxing can only suffer, and over the last couple of years I feel that as a boxing fan I've been taken the piss out of to be honest. I'll keep my money.

The casual fan has already been driven away, now it seems they're having a go at the hardcore fan too.

Has anyone else noticed that Buncey looks like someone has carved a 'T' into his forehead with a stanley knife? :DD

I'm away for a week but phoned up SKY to add allegedly just before I left this morning so i could at least record the fights. The young lady in India kept saying it was a free to air channel and didn't seem to know much about it. After I explained about the encryption she then put me on hold and later came back telling me there was "a problem" that might take 72 hours to resolve.

Bloody glad I wasn't going to be around anyway. I'm sure next weekend will be choc full of replays so I'm not that fussed either way.

No, have just been listening to Buncey's yarn about Mexicans getting killed on the U.S. border or something.

You can't subscribe direct through sky, you need to go through allegedly and paywizard direct.

Hmm well by the end of the conversation (and the lady's conversation with someone else) she seemed confident that it would be sorted just not today. I'll see when I get back.

Re-pasted from Eastside forum with no permission from the author (I'm sure he won't mind):

Anyone in the Republic after signing up for allegedly? Im just after tryinmg 3 times and all I get from paywizard is Sorry an error has occured, please try again.

Thats after I give the pudenda my card details

EDIT: just saw this on the brit forum

"We actually accept all credit and debit cards - apart from Maestro, which doesn't support recurring payments. This is actually a limitation of the Maestro system, rather than ours - so it's not something we will be able to fix."

No bastarding allegedly for me then. How can they not accept one of the major cards?

Not all of us have signed up, SG or have any plans too

I have to say, Buncey's shoes and socks alone, were worth staying up and watching.

I'm from the republic and had no problems signing up. Done it on Friday night and the channel appeared instantly so no hassle at all for me.

To be fair the maestro cards are crap, they arent accepted at train stations either - i found this out the hard way and then got the bank to give me a visa debit instead.

I thought it was supposed to be 2 a week, not 2 a month. That does look piss poor, no PR could spin it otherwise - unless they get something sorted.

They simply cant deliver on what was promised. They should have promised 1 world class show every week, any more was a bonus. They have set themselves up for a fall
