Yeah mate, went along. caught up with Benno and Leon. Always a great night at Challenge Stadium and once again Greeny made us proud to be an Aussie. You never know, if they can get John v Dib done over your neck of the woods another trip may be on the cards.

To me all boxers are winners.

Now unfortunately the reality as i predicted before this fight

1. Danny Green is a light heavyweight
2. He is 1 dimensional
3. I don't know what they were thinking after a heavy defeat against Tarver to fight nearly 4 months later that decision was so wrong.

Anyway god bless you Danny you have been a gentleman in & out of the ring not like some hopefully you stay in the sport in some capacity.

i dont know about 1 dimensional anymore? sure he used to be single geared which worked very very well for him but he outboxed and outfoxed bj flores and certainly was outboxing the pole using a lot of movement.

now that he is a cruiserweight im guessing they figured they would have to adapt his style being that he would no longer enjoy the size advantage he did at smw and lightheavy.

Maybe you can be a judge.
I think I could be a better judge than alot of the judges we have in Australia.

Mark, if you honestly believe Wlod was winning all along, I doubt you would do much better than most of our judges.....a few, but not many.

i have to agree with amwsnw, green was well in conrtol of the fight, yes he ate a few hard shots every round, but please fill me in as to me when a fighter has landed " a few shots per round" and legitimately won the fight, after being outboxed all fight?
i am curious as to why your so anti green?
i mean the guy isnt the best ever, and doesnt claim to be, he claims to be a guy that brings out the best names and fights that he can. yea he does build some opponents up, but isnt that boxing these days? (if you dont sell tickets/ ppv then you dont make money - same as when a local pro is selling tix to his mates for money, is he really gonna say this will be an easy fight, KO1 deal" rather than " you should buy a ticket itll be a great fight"

I feel the same way Bigred....comments just seem to be anti Green, when ever a thread pops up, it's always negative without any substance.

Green is the best thing for Australian boxing and is the biggest promoter(landslide), and if i were a boxer struggling to get fights i wouldn't be calling the top dog a wanker on the most viewed public boxing forum, especially if i myself couldn't see out the first round with the guy i was continuosly bagging.

not much to say to that but
its not just mark, but daniel is the same. the guys are both tough fighters, but they clearly have an anti green agenda. and i am curious as to why?
i will say this, green may promote some of the best cards each year, but where are the regular cards? it would be great for him to add to the guys that are already doing such good work eg di carlo, myer, michael. just to name a few

GMP= good boxing. I so do hope wehter Greeny retires or not he continues to showcase boxing via his promotions. The othe rnight was another good show. With the John fight AFTER the Green fight shows he (or perhaps even some of his advisors) may not be too bad at the old business of things. If ,what i am led to believe, that was done to accomodate the Indonesian audience then that goes so against ego and puts the focus on business. If that is done well then that can only mean good things for aussie boxing. Create a bigger market and as long as there are solid fights( even "the other" Indonesian fighters destruction of a decent journeyman) then his cards will get reknown for a show worth watching. Throw a Will Vs Herrera fight and the Green/Wlod fight and thats value. As much as ego and media may have gotten to Green at some points , I do believe he is sincere at heart about his boxing and his promotions. I really hope GMP continue to deliver the goods because they have the potential to be as mainstream as they can get in the modern market- and i dont mean that in a bad way. Getting/attracting more of a market with genuine/increasing interest can only do wonders for the sport. Its happened before(Fenech and Zoo era). After the decade of Green/Mundine i can only hope that things go places from there. Geale up soon. :bag: :bag: :bag: :bag: :bag:

I actually think the judging for the fight was pretty much bang-on. Green was either up 6 rounds to 4, 7 rounds to 3 or somewhere in between.

I think the only way you could say Green was 'losing' was that he was clearly tiring, slowing down and looking the worse for wear after the 9th round. The fight was slipping away from Green, but I just can't see how a competent judge could give Wlod any more than 4 of the completed rounds.

Bigred83 All I said about Green is he should fight at light heavy weight and he looked better when he trained with the Cuban Salas. Hardly a baggin. any body who knows me knows i respect Green. His last 2 fights have made me respect him more. I was sceptical at the start of his comeback. Before he retired i was a big fan.
