BLAKE CAPARELLO V DANTE CRAIG
BLAKE CAPARELLO V DANTE CRAIG
Heard a whisper that in March 2012, Caparello will be taking on Dante Craig (USA).
Re: BLAKE CAPARELLO V DANTE CRAIG
When Australian fighters get to about where Blake is in his career i understand its hard for them to get decent fights in Australia.but i hope his chasing a better opponent then dante Craig.his ranked about 300 in the world and lost his last three i like Blake and hope he does well but i hope he don't go down that path.i kno they have to build there record up but there not doing themselves any favors fighting these sort of blokes i understand its experience but so many aussie fighters do this it does them no good when they finally have to fight a world class fighter.
Re: BLAKE CAPARELLO V DANTE CRAIG
18-11-1 fighter
Re: BLAKE CAPARELLO V DANTE CRAIG
Blakes opponents thus far.
Kwadjo
Bolling
McConville
McKay
Casey( much better version)
Van wegian
Hes had 11 fights, and for a guy with 11 fights thats 6 fighters that most wouldn't dare tyouch especially Bolling, McConville and Kwadjo, don't really have a problem with his opponents at all thus far, but id do agree i would like this trend to continue.
If you have a guy bought through the right way and make every fight hard, there's no way the fighter can get complacent and there's no misconcieved notion of an easy fight later down the track. This is the ultimate prep for a world title.

Re: BLAKE CAPARELLO V DANTE CRAIG
He had a draw with McConville and those who saw that fight know who won, now im not takeing anything away from Caparello but he still has some good fights here in Australia, before looking oversees.
Re: BLAKE CAPARELLO V DANTE CRAIG
Collin Russell, are you suggesting McConville one?? if you are, id disagree... Caparello was a lot more effective. in saying that, Caparello now also has one whole years experience on McConville fighting some of the best around australia (Bolling, Kwadjo, Letoa, Van Nimwegen). and McConville hasnt seen an opponent for a year. I think its not just about fighting the best in australia, its also about who will take on blake in australia.

Re: BLAKE CAPARELLO V DANTE CRAIG
In respect to Shane McConville he hasnt fought because of illness, did McConville win when he fought Caparello no it was a draw wasnt it? As for who will fight him in Australia he only has to ask the other fighters in his division here in AUS.
Re: BLAKE CAPARELLO V DANTE CRAIG
I'm looking forward to Caparello vs. Vlamis - Oz title :P
Re: BLAKE CAPARELLO V DANTE CRAIG
Craig has a poor recent record losing 7 of his last 9 fights and looks like he will lose his fight this weekend against unbeaten Ryan Coyne. Is he really a "step up"?ratter wrote:When Australian fighters get to about where Blake is in his career i understand its hard for them to get decent fights in Australia.but i hope his chasing a better opponent then dante Craig.his ranked about 300 in the world and lost his last three i like Blake and hope he does well but i hope he don't go down that path.i kno they have to build there record up but there not doing themselves any favors fighting these sort of blokes i understand its experience but so many aussie fighters do this it does them no good when they finally have to fight a world class fighter.

Have you looked at some of the African light heavyweights? Braimah Kamoko of Ghana looks like a pretty good fighter.Slab wrote:Yeh guys, I have had a good read through all the comments and I tend to agree with some and disagree with others. First and for most I can guarantee you we are not taking any easy way as we have shown. As of November 18 forward we have challenged every light heavy in the country including some top line cruisers and the undefeated new zealanders. As these fighters have declined to fight we are stuck in no mans land, we can't fight Dante Craig but we also can't fight chad Dawson so where to from here? Cunningham and dirrell faught Dante Craig and they are world class fighters who beat him and here's a guy with 11 pro fights who can't get a fight in the country and all he wants to do is stay active! Bring a name and a contract and we will fight!!

Re: BLAKE CAPARELLO V DANTE CRAIG
Slab at what weight did u offer to fight the cruiser?im sure there is plenty that would fight Blake at 90.7 of course if u offer to fight them under that u will find it hard.
Re: BLAKE CAPARELLO V DANTE CRAIG
An American "journeyman" is often better than a lot of our domestic fighters with heavy winning records, I certainly have no problem with testing the US waters...

Craig's record indicates he has been on too many journeys.Marlin wrote:An American "journeyman" is often better than a lot of our domestic fighters with heavy winning records, I certainly have no problem with testing the US waters...

Re: BLAKE CAPARELLO V DANTE CRAIG
Just a thought but what about going after the Commonwealth Title the current holder is no world beater, Blake might have to travel to fight for it but if he wins it a few higher ranked guys might come knocking.
Re: BLAKE CAPARELLO V DANTE CRAIG
I'm Pretty sure they're after this bloke Robert Berridge, very disappointed in himself with the last effort.caveman wrote:trent broadhurst ????

Re: BLAKE CAPARELLO V DANTE CRAIG
I thought the idea was for Blake to fight somebody more highly rated than himself. Ovill McKenzie has a 19-11 record and is not even the best light heavy in the UK. He barely makes the first 15 in the Commonwealth.franko1990 wrote:Just a thought but what about going after the Commonwealth Title the current holder is no world beater, Blake might have to travel to fight for it but if he wins it a few higher ranked guys might come knocking.

I know he isn't highly rated but it's not like his ranking is that bad he is only 17 places lower than Blake.Brute wrote:I thought the idea was for Blake to fight somebody more highly rated than himself. Re: BLAKE CAPARELLO V DANTE CRAIG
I've seen him fight about 3 or 4 times, he would beat the majority if not all but maybe 2 or 3 here, don't let the record fool you, he can fight.
Re: BLAKE CAPARELLO V DANTE CRAIG
McKenzie is 7 years older than Caparello. He won the vacant Commonwealth title over a fighter with 10 fights behind him after two failed attempts against Bellew
who has since gone after bigger fish. I just think Caparello could find a better opponent if he wants to move forward.

..and this weekend marked another journey on the down slope. Ryan Coyne TKO 2 Dante Craig.Brute wrote:Craig's record indicates he has been on too many journeys.Marlin wrote:An American "journeyman" is often better than a lot of our domestic fighters with heavy winning records, I certainly have no problem with testing the US waters...

I forgot about him, that would be a pretty interesting fight, haven't seen Vlamis fight yet. Probably besides McConville the best fight within Australia.
