liverpool show off
Re: liverpool show off
I'm looking forward to Bunce and other Warren cronies coming on here in January, pointing to the moved Degale bill and whatever else gets scheduled and saying how great allegedly is for us fans, how it's cheap at £10 a month and we should all stop complaining. The phantom December with just Chisora, Cotto and Ormond will conveniently be forgotton when it comes to an assessment of the value provided by the new channel.
Re: liverpool show off
Was this show pulled due to tickets sales?
Re: liverpool show off
After my initial 5 month of allegedly I will leave. I feel robbed of December payment.
Re: liverpool show off
I saw the thread title " Liverpool show off" I thought it was another Bellew topic

Re: liverpool show off
When K2 decided "the show must go on" it was switched to Friday night. Not sure why, but there you go. I imagine Sky cannot accommodate the change of day, even if they wanted to, which presumably presents an opportunity for your friend and mine to scrap the Liverpool show and snap up this re-arranged German one at a bargain price, thus delivering live boxing to the subscribers, without having to fork out DeGale's massive wagesmagnus wrote:Isn't the Golovkin fight part of the Wlad bill - so Sky might have first refusal? No mention of either of the other bills on the Allegedly channel website, but as a subscriber it would be good to get the Cloud/Rigo fights.gobbles wrote:I believe they might be showing the Golovkin bill from Germany instead on Friday.
They also have the Selby-Simpson fight next week and the Tavoris Cloud and Rigondeaux bill on New Year's Eve
Agree with the poster who suggests that poor ticket sales may have had an impact - why would the locals want to turn out in great numbers at this time of the year to watch a mediocre main event, headlined by a London lad, supported by some local fighters against TBA?
Re: liverpool show off
Ah, didn't know the show was now on Friday, maybe they will try and get it.
Re: liverpool show off
'I believe' and 'they might' - it's all a bit vague and disappointing though, i have to say, not surprising. This is why i haven't subscribed yet and wont do until this channel has proved consistent value over a period of time.gobbles wrote:I believe they might be showing the Golovkin bill from Germany instead on Friday.

Skyhave got a great run of fights coming up though so there's still plenty to watch, two SUPERB weekends coming up.

Surely B O X nation could have just let the Virgin customers have a free months trial for December (Sky had 2 months free) and just start the subscriptions in the new year when they actually have a schedule.....
Strange one this. Im sure I read (maybe on the website) that you had to sign up for 6 months and £10 a month would be spread out over those. However, when I rung Virgin to confirm my subscription I was told I could cancel at anytime. I was happy to pay £10 for Saturdays boxing alone so dont feel ripped off....yet.
Anyway may be woth investigating if you think next months schedule sucks!

It's very disappointing. Billy Joe Saunders and Liam Smith were both moaning like hell about it on Twitter yesterday and with some justification. F. Warren has taken the piss out of his subscirbers, fans and his own boxers with this decision.
B O X Nation may get plenty of subscribers, but I think we are seeing an example that people would rather pay £10 per month to watch the bill at home rather than fork out £60-80 to travel to Liverpool, buy a ticket and then stay in a hotel, especially this close to Christmas. I think F. Warren has shot himself in the foot in terms of ticket sales with his new channel

well am pissed off my bro fighting on the 16th dec in liverpool for irish title. Dinner show £160 a ticket and got to have at least 10 per table. Week b4 xmas not all of us are made of money.
Re: liverpool show off
the whole show has been a nightmare for FW, even the news that Groves had hurt his elbow was featuring on this site yet other sites were allegedly still trying to sell tickets for the bill featuring groves and degale.... not really fair on the punters.
Re: liverpool show off
Yeah, I heard Groves's elbow was really, really sore.rhino222 wrote:the whole show has been a nightmare for FW, even the news that Groves had hurt his elbow was featuring on this site yet other sites were allegedly still trying to sell tickets for the bill featuring groves and degale.... not really fair on the punters.

True, why go there when you could sit in comfort. Taken ticket sales away from his boxers, well there % on sales. Ppl would rather save money, on these hard times. £10 insted of £30 plus a ticket. Trying to rob his fighters of ticket %.
Re: liverpool show off
But still don't think many people will subscribe. His shows are always more expensive than other promotors for example York Hall usually 35 or 50 ringside his shows 40 or 60 ringside.Champ1982 wrote:themadmariner wrote:It's very disappointing. Re: liverpool show off
I just questioned this on th Other 456 thread. So basically there is eff in December , jan looks like conquest.
Fans will get their kicks via sky , Froch and Khan in December, plus the usual sky ringside Xmas special etc etc. it will be tough to get new subscribers when there is effectively nothing to sign up to.

Be nice to hear the real excuse for this one...but I fear we'll never really know...
Re: liverpool show off
Is it cheaper for them to show some obscure overseas bill than stage weekly Uk shows?

Selby - Simpson is on allegedly, rather than Sky, next week.

Re: liverpool show off
This show has been badly publicised not seen any advert for tickets for it at all. More to this than meets the eye.magnus wrote:http://www.allegedly.tv/index.php/new ... ation.html
