Re: gerald vs nigel ben
Taping a defenceless dogs mouth up and then letting his digs rip it to pieces is pretty fvcking sick by anybody's standards. He was obviously an absolute idiot prior to his fight with Benn as decisions he made prior prove. Maybe he now feels as defenceless as that dog did? Not to say I do not feel sorry for him though, and I don't with bad on him at all, just want to make it clear he was not a nice person before his injury. But then we have all done stupid things while young..

Not sure whether your trying encourage some kind of em rant out of me or just trolling, but hopefully a couple of definitions of 'evil' which are appropriate:
evil [ˈiːvəl]
adj
1. morally wrong or bad
2. causing harm or injury
3. offensive or unpleasant

here you are, an official explanation of Evil.MachoMan09 wrote:I do need an explanation. I get "callous", I suppose. But I'm struggling with "evil". Definitions of evil vary along with analysis of its root motive causes, however general actions commonly considered evil include: conscious and deliberate wrongdoing, discrimination designed to harm others, humiliation of people designed to diminish their psychological needs and dignity, destructiveness, and acts of unnecessary and/or indiscriminate violence that are not legitimate acts of self-defense but aggressive and designed to cause ill-being to others.
what is deemed as evil to you might not necessarily be deemed as evil by others - interpretation

I take it you(bad mamma jamma) and bengulnaci1 are both Vegetarians then although if i had to guess i'd say you're both probably tucking into Kebabs as i write this!bad mamma jamma wrote:Ryan, you are making the same error of judgement that others did when i said the same thing as bengulnaci1 on the other thread. i said that mclellan was basically a cnt for what he did, and that what goes around comes around. i also got accused of saying that he got what he deserved. its not about getting what he deserved, its really about if you do something so cruel, so abhorrent, so inhuman - like what mclellan did - he does not deserve the sympathy that people are giving him. there are millions of people out there who view animals as deserving the same rights as humans, and vice versa - i am one of the former so of course I am going to have strong views about this issue.ryanst1982 wrote:Totally agree. but the point I made is it isnt on par with rape or being a paedophile or murder. I never once dismissed it. But sorry, it is a lesser crime than rape or murder. Any rational person will see that. That is not dismissing it. Ive stated its terrible and people deserve punishment for such things. Like years inside. But not to become what Gerald is now. That is not something he deserved. Im sure you will agree. If you dont then I cannot see your view at all
its been done to death now so i think we should all accept that there will be some on one side and others on the other side when it comes to such matters..
I've had alot of so called animal lovers show me some horrible pictures of animal cruelty that humans have carried out against them lately but as soon as you ask them if they eat meat they start making excuses that it's not the same....yeah it isn't as the meat industry is probably more abhorrent and cruel if you go and visit any slaughterhouse, we as a society accept the mass extermination and butchery of millions of animals each day to fufill our latent cravings for meat even though we(you) are eating species that in some cases have almost identical DNA to us.
So i'm sorry you can't make that argument about other peoples cruelty to animals if you eat meat as you are also particapating in that cruelty whether you get your hands bloody or go to your local tescos to buy your meat wrapped up in cellophane.

Well good for you then and No it hasn't lost any relevence as the sentiment is still the same but i do agree that this thread is really becoming in bad taste as gman is in a terrible state and people are debating whether he deserved it or is evil FFS.

i remember reading it in the national papers a few days after the fightloaded_gloves wrote:Says who?fasteddie wrote:do you know the history of gerald mcclelland and what happened to him? the blood clot was there before benn fought him
I'm not saying you're wrong incidentally, I believe he entered the ring as slightly damaged goods, but there is no documentary evidence whatsoever so you can't state that as a 'fact'.

Re: gerald vs nigel ben
Gerald was a numpty. The dog thing was horrendous. It's hard to feel sorry for a man like him when he tied up a dog and let "Duece" rip it to pieces. I feel very little for that man as a person.

Do you mind sharing where you get your facts from ?fasteddie wrote: do you know the history of gerald mcclelland and what happened to him? the blood clot was there before benn fought him so what im trying to say is if it didnt happen with benn it would of happened further down the line
Where is the proof McClellan had a blood clot before the Benn fight ?
From what i have read the facts are the clot was small, suggesting it was caused on the night.
Re: gerald vs nigel ben
it was in a national paper a few days after the fight in 1995,so your saying the blood clot was small,as in it happened on the night or the small blood clot was already there?mrpedigree wrote:Do you mind sharing where you get your facts from ?fasteddie wrote: do you know the history of gerald mcclelland and what happened to him? the blood clot was there before benn fought him so what im trying to say is if it didnt happen with benn it would of happened further down the line

Must be true then. I'm sure they spent hours with the surgeons discussing the facts of his condition before printing the story.fasteddie wrote: it was in a national paper a few days after the fight in 1995
I hate it when people just make things up about others injuries. None of us know exactly how the clot was formed or if he had it before the fight so lets just leave it at that instead of deciding for ourselves what happened with his brain.

You know i went to watch this fight and must of read every news paper in the following days after,I can truely say I can never recal reading that McCelllan had been diagnosed with alraedy carrying a clottfasteddie wrote:it was in a national paper a few days after the fight in 1995,so your saying the blood clot was small,as in it happened on the night or the small blood clot was already there?mrpedigree wrote:Do you mind sharing where you get your facts from ?fasteddie wrote: do you know the history of gerald mcclelland and what happened to him? the blood clot was there before benn fought him so what im trying to say is if it didnt happen with benn it would of happened further down the line

I dont think a paper could or would suggest such a thing .
What i can remember was how most of the papers was making a meal of how a lot of Benns punches was landing high on the side of McClellans head sugggesting these types of punches do far more damage to the brain !? but like was said before sometimes the papers are misinformed .
All we can go by is what the doctor at the time said,it was one small clott that was resault of beeing punched in the head for 11 rounds..i dont think there is any man that could step in a ring with a clott on the brain and even compete for a round with a bum let alone 11 with big punching Nigel Benn .
