MIKE TYSON : HIS NEW PERSONA........DO YOU BUY IT ?

Post by Quixall »

This is a video of Mike Tyson talking about a film he is in called "Hangover 2

I have thought this for some time, that it's nice to see Mike happy and healthy and seemingly free from his demons. However, the Mike Tyson in the last 12 months or so seems to be way different from what he used to be in his fighting days. Maybe it's the fact that Mike has found himself and is just being Mike Tyson for the very first time, instead of hiding behind the "Baddest man on the planet" persona, but he seems to be "too" happy and is so charged up with energy everytime i see him now. They say that Anti Depressant medication can have this euphoric effect for a while and i'm wondering whether this is the case with Mike. People have noted that this transformation is similar to the one that happened to George Foreman, where he went from being a miserable machine like persona into a cuddly teddy bear image, where everyone loved George and the story of his transformation and boxing comeback. It could be that Tyson is revelling in this new found popularity and as people are being nice to him, paying him compliments and smiling at him, he is doing it back and fulfilling a "feel good" prophecy or circle. Will this Mike Tyson prevail or will the old Mike return with the stories of old ? I personally hope this Mike Tyson is here to stay !!

What do you guys think ?

Was it Muhammad Ali that said "if your the same person at 40 as you were at 20 you've wasted 20 years"

Yeah, i think it was and that is true......................

But this isn't a gradual change over 20 years, this is a sudden change of personality.

i think hes found a degree of peace since losing all his dough. no pressure, no leeches.

Also, the death of his little 1 may have had a profound effect.

I think it was a relief for him to be done with boxing, lets be honest, he hated it post prison. Talked about retirement every other week.

With Foreman it was a personality he cultivated for the sake of popularity, and gradually as he mellowed with age he met it in the middle, obviously swinging the pendulum for the grill commercials.

Tyson seems genuinely changed. Not spending 70 hours a week living like a machine will probably do that to a man.

It's a very good question. I also wonder the same. If I met him at my local Costcutter I'd approach him, but with 'not the face' perched on my lips.

I do wonder what his medication (or maybe non medicated) drug habbit is like now.

He just seemed to be "zoned out" constantly.

well he has been like this for 5 years........he lives a life of travelling the world to be with whatever rich entities want him around, be that chechen millionaires, an audience in russia, bollywood or reality tv shows in america or eastern europe....he definetly has a few million from his fighting career stashed away with finally some good accountants looking after his interests.....he definetly peddles his "i lost it all " myth......he has definetly wised up about the excess of lost earnings, hangers on, and his boxing career is all over......he definetly loves his children and has suffered terribly from his daughters loss and his uprbringing......but he still likes womanising when he can and it wouldnt surprise me if at some point he imploded with a woman or stripper again....he definetly still has the capabilities to knock most men cold in the street and again it wouldnt surpise me something flares up where an antogonist goads him into some unseemingly spectacle.........but mike has a natural intelligence and charisma i think he will be fine
