SO... ANYONE STILL THINK AMIR WOULD HAVE BEATEN TIM BRADLEY?

Post by loaded_gloves »

Amir's amateur style of a flurry then running half way across the ring simply didn't work against his first opponent who was young, could box and fight. Tim Bradley, who beat Lamont Peterson widely, would have battered Khan in my opinion. He would have found him out and I wouldn't be surprised by a stoppage.

Amir crying about hometown favouritism after Barrera and McCloskey and all those quick stoppages coming up? Pretty rich! Peterson beat him fair & square and Tim Bradley would do so too.

Thoughts about Bradley/Khan, my beloved fellow postologists?

Khan will beat most, IF, he sticks to his hit and run tactics. It's when he tries to become macho when he comes unstuck, like last night and against Maidana.

If the Khan that beat Kotelnik turned up, the one that was extremely disciplined to adopt and stick to the tactics he coule beat Bradley, yes. I guess it is what makes him exciting

You could argue about whether the referee was right to deduct two points in the fight, which is very unusual to say the least. The referee saw it as he did, warned Khan and took the deductions, but i have seen fights where that has happenned and no points were deducted. It has to be remembered that with out those deductions Khan would have won the fight by a unanimous decision (114-113, 114-113, 114-111) in what was a closer fight than expected because Khan didn't stick to his game plan. Khan under-estimated Peterson, was clowning around too much and got into needless brawls through out the fight, but when he stuck to his game plan and usual style, Peterson didn't have any answers at all. Credit to Peterson for bringing the fight to Khan, but i say that Khan, without the deductions beat Peterson when he was off form and fighting in a way that negated his own attributes, that of speed, movement and accuracy. As for Khan beating Bradley, it will be a close fight, but if Khan sticks to his "hit and run" tactics then he will beat Bradley IMO. Khan only looks averae when he employs the tactics of a brawler in fights, when he fights as Roach intends him to he looks a class above his opponent, as in Malignaggi and Judah.

Kotelnik is too negative and safety first to make a fight out of it. He's a guy who stays in his shell so Amir stayed away from him. Bradley, Maidana, Peterson, these guys will fight.

Totally different type of fight to last night. Khan would be better suited to Bradley, but as for the outcome I am not sure now.

And that would be outrageous. Peterson worked Khan over and to rob him of the victory would have been another fine boxing rip off.

I had Peterson winning the fight regardless of the points. He scored with the better punches thorughtout most of nte rounds.

Khan lost the fight but I woud not rule him out winnng the rematch.

Bradley beat Peterson, Peterson beat Khan, so therefore Bradley would beat Khan....I think we all know its not quite as simple as that.

Yes he could beat Tim, just because he lost on a majority decision after having 2 points deducted means nothing :shame: didn't Ali lose? Didn't PAc man lose? Lewis? Hagler, Hearns? I could go on and on naming brilliant fighters who lost during their careers and came back better fighters

Bradley beat an previously unbeaten Lamont Peterson by 120-107

And we are here having this conversation?

Bradley has defeated 3no previously-unbeaten men in Devon Alexander, Lamont Peterson & Carlos Abregu.

And seeing as Khan struggled so badley when Lamont rolled under the shots (which Tim is a master off) you really give him a chance ? Trust me, he has got no chance.

I think last night was close, very close, I think khan could win a rematch, Peterson was better then I thought though, I think Bradley would still get beat by khan, this will make khan stronger still, he was getting abit cocky for my liking since the madaina fight, this will make him a better man !

I'm interested to see how he would beat him ?

People say 'styles' but Bradley is the absolute worst style for Khan.

Tell me how Khan would do it.

Khan needs to stick to his jab, it's as simple as that, Bradley is a small man, if khan doesn't let him get close he won't ! I think Bradley knew already khans jab is too acurate and fast for him, now his watched Peterson his put 2 and 2 together and the fight will happen.

Khan fan boys are clinging to the two point deductions as the reasons for his loss. What they seem to be forgetting that, regardless of crooked judges trying to help the HBO fighter, Khan lost the fight and was exposed as not being anywhere near the force he is sold as. He is not elite, and never will be.

Why people want so badly to 'believe' in Khan has puzzled me for years now.

Have you listened to the HBO commentary yet? Their justification of rounds for Khan was quite funny, they were doing their utmost to make Khan a clear winner but were struggling to make a case

Apart from mayweather pacman and now possibly cotto who else is elite in the 140/147 divisions, his asain his likable his talented and very exciting to watch, I still believe his elite and it actually makes me laugh how many jump on the bandwagon the second he looses a very close fight. Tbc

I agree. Bottom line is Khan has reached his limit. I had Peterson winning without the deduction of points. Apart from a rematch with Peterson, where does Khan go from here? Bradley, Pacman and Mayweather are all in another league way above him.

i missed last nights fight as i have just got back from germany (xmas market trip to munich and uberammergau...absolutely fantastic and thoroughly recomment it!). i heard the result on tv and the impression i got from the report was that it was not a close fight at all and even with the deductions khan should have got the decision...was the report correct?

as for khan v bradley..... i saw enough of bradley from ringside when he took witters crown, i honestly think khan has the style and speed to beat bradley, lets get a rematch with lamont out of the way first shall we!

Had to be a report from Khans camp rather than an unbiased sports news report. Khan was out of his depth blowing heavily and looking very worried in his corner during the late rounds. Failing to find an answer to Petersons walk forward style he fouled him several times, was warned by the ref, and had points deducted. Without the deductions I had Peterson winning by one, and possibly two rounds. Elbows, grabbing Petersons head, and hitting after the ref called break in the final round. Peterson deserved the win, he didnt foul once, and he controlled the fight. Bradley is too tough for Khan.

It was a great fight, very close. Peterson went in with his head a few times, khan pushed a few times. I thought two points off for Khan was harsh.

Peterson did indeed deserve the win but it was very very close.

Grabbing, pushing and pulling are all illegal moves according to the rules, so rightly should have point deductions - especially since he did it ALL NIGHT.

Had he not been doing so much spoiling he would have to of fought a lot more and thus taken even more punches.

It seems that the most important person who needs to believe that Bradley would beat Khan doesn't and thats why the fight hasn't happened, and why Khan would probably win for me.
