With all the oohing and aahing over the announcement delay and the changed scorecard, it seems to have been overlooked that Michael Buffer go it wrong in his announcement. He said that the winner "by Majority Decision" was Peterson, but he was a winner by a split. Has there been any explanation for this cock up? It seems unlikely that it was an innocent error, given Buffers experience, and the increased focus on the scoring caused by the delay.

I just watched it again (a little less intoxicated) and I think Khan won easily. I'm abit of a fan but not enough to obscure my judgement twice. He'll beat him in the rematch.

I didnt score it when i watched it and thought it was as close to a draw as possible with the deductions but i watched it again last night and i had it 111 - 114 in khans favour, although i noticed the rounds i scored to khan for clean work and better shots were scored to peterson by the two judges and to khan by the other judge.

I couldnt really argue that they were clearly khans rounds because they were very close but i think outside of DC he would have been given those round.

in lieu of khan's controversial fight with peterson, are ppl more understanding about burns vacating his title, avoiding facing broner in america and instead taking the more "attractive" fight, katsidis?

No problems with the decision at all - nor the points deductions really to be fair, I am a Khan admirer (more than fan) so no axe to grind at all with the Bolton lad.

He has been good for our game in terms of promotional skills but his taking of a defeat has left a lot to be desired against Prescott and now Peterson.

He really should not be struggling against Lamont if he is elite level, I regretfully suggest he is not at that level, world class yes, Mayweather and Pacquiao level, clearly not.

Good luck with the rematch which will happen at some stage.
