Dereck Chisora?
Just when you think boxing has reached its lowest point, they manage to bring things down even further.
Could you imagine UFC booking Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira to fight for world title next?
Of coure not, he lost 2 of his last 3 his last fighs so it makes no sense whatsoever and nobody would be interrested.
Its just common sense.
Boxing however.......

Re: Dereck Chisora?
It will be closer than any of Vitali's fights in recent that's for sure. Chisora is top 10 in this era when he is on his game. We will see...

Yes, those are not the tactics i'd use when fighting Vitali either.
Although i could see Bomber Graham trying it.
Re: Dereck Chisora?
There's actually someone out there who thought he lost against Helenius? Pathetic.
Re: Dereck Chisora?
He was pathetic against fury so out Of shape!King Geedorah wrote:Sign of the times. Great chance for Chisora. If he wins two or more rounds plus goes the distance he'll get another crack within a year.
Re: Dereck Chisora?
How did you give that fight to Helenius, what was your scorecardKing Geedorah wrote:I thought he lost. And the decison went against him. So he did lose and is coming into a world title crack off a defeat, which doesn't often happen unless you're rematching for the belt you lost.Camcas wrote:Well he didnt loose his last fight everyone knows thatHe a top 10 heavyweight nothing wrong with the figth
Re: Dereck Chisora?
It's not Strictly Come fvcking Dancing where you impress the judges. Your job is to beat your opponent. Chisora beat Helenius. It was fraud that he never won, absolute disgrace.King Geedorah wrote:How did I give it to Helenius? I scored more rounds for him than Chisora. My card was 115-113. It was a close fight as Chisora had big moments but often couldn't sustain them, instigated a lot of clinches and didn't work them as well as he could have done and generally speaking in EBU fights you don't get as much credit for body work so beyond the sixth digging downstairs doesn't do you much good as it won't register.Camcas wrote:How did you give that fight to Helenius, what was your scorecardKing Geedorah wrote: I thought he lost. The cards actually were a fair reflection when you take into account how they score in these types of contests. British guys can keep going over there, fighting the wrong type of fight, losing a close decision and bleat about it or figure out what the judges are looking for and give it to them.

Or you are Erik Morales.King Geedorah wrote:I thought he lost. And the decison went against him. He fought Ayala for a vacant title after his loss to Barrera in their second fight. He fought David Diaz for the Lightweight title coming off the back of three straight losses and four in five (Pacman x 2, Raheem and Barrera III) and then he fought Cano for the vacant Light Welter title off the back of the Maidana loss (a fight in which Maidana was coming off the back of the Khan loss).

Why don't you reveal your "scorecard" round by round ?Camcas wrote:But round by round what was your scorecard
Seriously - boxing is a subjective sport.
Some people (for example the judges at the actual fight) scored it differently than you - such as is life !

Re: Dereck Chisora?
People like things that make sense, its how humans think.
Fighter X beats Top condenders Fighters Y, Z and V and is clearly the number 1 contender for the champion.
No probs, i understand that, i might watch it.
Fighter X loses to unheard of Fighter Y, beats journeyman Fighter Z and loses to Tyson Fury and gets a title shot.
Hmmmmm, that doesnt make sense, i might not watch it, in fact i know i wont, as i'm going to a monster truck show that day and wont be back till late.
Simple.

Helen just stood there looking at him as if he had never seen a black man that close before. Chisora was robbed IMO, no doubt about it. You are in a small minority there. Are you a judge? Why would judges ignore body punches? Body punches are a fundamental part of boxing.

I was in the Ukraine a few years working with another contractor, who happened to be black. We turned up on-site on the 1st day and shook hands with everyone, usual stuff.carlbcfc wrote:Helen just stood there looking at him as if he had never seen a black man that close before. I sensed an odd atmosphere in the room, and one of them pipes up
"you know, thats the 1st time i have ever shaken hands with a black guy" said one of them.
"me to"
"and me"

I remember an interview with Bez from the Happy Mondays. they asked him what Japan was like.
"It was full of f**king Chinese" was his reply.
Hardly the Beatles arriving at JFK in 1964

You are forgetting David Haye!MachoMan09 wrote:The heavyweight division is absolute garbage at that moment. The Klitschkos would've done okay in any era but the rest are a shower of mediocrity, and by mediocrity I mean shite. At least when Joe Louis was knocking bums out for fun, he was doing it every month. Vitali is forty-years-old now, when George Foreman made his comeback, in 1987, people thought he was older than Methuselah - he was 38. The old Ukranian has the easiest job in the world. There is no decent young talent coming through in the division and none on the horizon.
Oh no, wait a sec...

They were paid. What's your excuse?King Geedorah wrote:Yes, I do. Plus two of the three judges felt the same. Hardly pathetic, is it?Karl Jade wrote:There's actually someone out there who thought he lost against Helenius? Pathetic.
