females in silver gloves
I was told that female boxers were not allowed to advance to national silver goloves. Is this true? if so this is ridiculus we need to realize that females are here to stay and boxing and they need all the same opportunities that males have!
Re: females in silver gloves
Yes, this is true. There was a movement many years ago to get Ray Rodgers to allow them in the national tournament but nothing came of it. Since Silver Gloves, as a group member, signs a contract that they will abide by all USA Boxing rules, seems to me they are terribly out of compliance. Just my opinion.I was told that female boxers were not allowed to advance to national silver goloves. seems like pressure needs to be put on him and USA Boxing then, No reason for them to only allow girls to go to reginals, that is crazy!
Re: females in silver gloves
You would have to file a grievance, stating a rule violation, with USA Boxing. USA Boxing needs to put pressure, if any, for violating the contract.seems like pressure needs to be put on him and USA Boxing then, No reason for them to only allow girls to go to reginals, that is crazy!

When did they make this decision? And when did they inform the Regional Coordinators? As of our Regional tournament the first of this month, the females were NOT going to the national tournament in February. They have decided to let females compete this year
Re: females in silver gloves
I thought I saw something online that females were having thier own Silver Gloves but it was combined with another ringside tournament maybe it was the Masters

Re: females in silver gloves
I was in the planning stages of trying to put together a tournament for the female winners of the Silver Gloves. The reason we were going to do this is because the Girls NEVER got to participate in the National Tournament. Made some calls to the guy who runs the Silver Gloves - and he basically decided that since i was going to try and do this and bill it as the FIRST EVER- that he would take the idea and run with it. I spoke with him on the phone today to inquire about the SUDDEN CHANGE - and he basically aswered a few of my questions, but avoided the main question. "when did you decide to invite the females into this national tournament?" HE HUNG UP ON ME- i dont care that he wanted to run ahead of me with the idea- THE GOAL WAS ACCOMPLISHED! GIRLS will be allowed in the tournament! For the females- we have a big show out in California called the Beautiful Brawlers, our show will be in mid June. We match these fights to the tee. No Mismatches. Each winner receives the Beautiful Brawler belt and 2nd place gets a beautiful customized trophy! This event drew many girls and females who wanted to participate in a show that gave FEMALES THE PLATTFORM TO SHOW THEIR SKILLS AND WIN THE BELT! I will be updating this show information on this site. Stay tuned and BE READY!
