Betting thread
Re: Betting thread
Connacht +5 @ EVS vs. Gloucester.
Gloucester are probably the weakest English team in the competition. Connacht are a weak team on paper but always give 110% and backed by a home crowd they may pull off the upset.
Biarritz -4 @ 10/11 vs. Treviso.
Biarritz are not the force they once were but should still prove too strong for the Italians.

Roughly yes. I reckon I average about 2 grand profit a year but I don't really do it for the money. I do it for the buzz and the interest really. Making money gambling is one of the hardest ways to make money.reggaereggae wrote:good grief. Do you keep a note of every bet? IE your total yearly profit / losses?SteveDow wrote:£200. Re: Betting thread
Treble today. Man United to beat Wolves (surely they can't let me down again!), Khan to beat Peterson and Trump to win the UK snooker at 6/5 with Victor Chandler. Also backed Phil Taylor to win the Players Championships a few days ago at 11/10. Nervy opening win yesterday.
Re: Betting thread
BRITISH KO DOUBLE khan to stop peterson anytime and froch to stop ward anytime works out 16-1 think ward will win on points but if froch is gona win{and he does have a good chance ] should be a stoppage win won,t get the decision over there
Re: Betting thread
Biarritz were shite today.
I managed to lay off most of my stake when they had a little surge so I only lost a tenner.
I had a shocker on the football, I was in the middle of laying off the draw in both the Swansea and Arsenal games when the goals went in, the only result I got right was Saints vs Blackpool, so the losses aren't too bad.
Hopefully the boxing can bring me back around.

Re: Betting thread
Biarritz really were woeful, they are finished as a top side. Connacht +5 just scraped through for me. Hopefully Theophane can earn me a few bob tonight. Put a small bit on the draw in Bayaar-Edwards aswell.LeedsLad wrote:Biarritz were shite today.

Re: Betting thread
I didn't watch the whole game, but what I saw was the Italian pack just bullying them.
The lack of tackling for the first two tries was shocking, I was amazed that some of the money came back into my Betfair account, turned the game on and there was one point in it
Bayaar should beat Edwards, he was a handy winner last time on my card, it might be one of those though where the British judges can't agree on the colour of shite and we get a controversial decision.
Like you say, Theophane is the banker here. He's not losing this one.

surely its worth money on a SD for either fighter in this one? been tons of late and always cracking odds offered, no way this ends earlyLeedsLad wrote:I didn't watch the whole game, but what I saw was the Italian pack just bullying them.

Re: Betting thread
It might be.
I fancy Bayaar pretty strongly.
UD - 7/2
SD - 3/1
MD - 25/1
Seems the bookies might have picked up on the split decision theme in the past few months.
Might just run with Bayaar to win, even money is alright, I'd have him around the 4/7 mark personally.

Good stuff. My best year was £7K and my worst was £1K loss. But overall I've made over £10,000 the last 5 years.....I even keep a spreadsheet on my bets!!!!!!!SteveDow wrote:Roughly yes. Disappointing exit for Taylor. He didn't get going today. Still fancy him big time for the worlds.SteveDow wrote:Treble today. Re: Betting thread
tempted to go large on Ward....
Re: Betting thread
I'm pretty sure Ward will win. I can't see Froch landing the shot to knock Ward out, and Ward's going to win if it goes to points.Riddick Blowe wrote:tempted to go large on Ward....
Re: Betting thread
Man city are more of less 2-1 to win tonight, better odds than a out right win for ward, but i hate betting on football, as it usually goes tits up for me.
Re: Betting thread
The 4/7 on Ward by decision is very tempting but I want to support Froch so I'll stay away

Re: Betting thread
Thing is I would feel great to win a ton of money but would I feel great if Froch won too?
Have to find the amount of money lost at which I would still feel good if Froch won

Re: Betting thread
Treble for me on Big Bucks to win the Long Walk Hurdle on Saturday, Adrian Lewis to beat Noigel Heyden in the darts tomorrow and Ward to beat Froch. Evens with Sky bet.
Still actually want Froch to win but don't think he will so hopefully I'll be positive either way.

Re: Betting thread
Now it'll be a draw, or some preposterous headbutt-related ND.
Re: Betting thread
I'm going to have two small bets on Raymond Barneveld and Mark Webster to win the PDC World Darts @ 33/1 and
28/1 respectively. Taylor is obviously the man to beat, but I think at least one of these two will get to a semi-final and from there who knows what might happen.

Re: Betting thread
Didn't expect Webster to fall at the first hurdle but as a massive Taylor backer he is a potentially sticky obstacle out of the way.Deno1986 wrote:I'm going to have two small bets on Raymond Barneveld and Mark Webster to win the PDC World Darts @ 33/1 and

Re: Betting thread
Backing Toulouse at 6/5 vs. Harlequins (live betting). It's currently 15-3 to Quins but I think the French side can come back to win it.
