Re: Usa v Ukraine
Yes thats exactly what it seems like........I thought there was only draws in professional boxing but i guess in Ukraine they do whatever they want,I also had a chance to speak to one of the coaches up there and they said there was alot of home cooking going on and that the two boxers who really got robbed ridiculously at both duals in Ukraine were Shawn Simpson and Marlen Esparza.Sad but I guess just scratch up as good expierence

Re: Usa v Ukraine
how do all three women get draws? no tiebreakers?
Re: Usa v Ukraine
AIBA rules allow for draws, unlike the U.S. who does not allow them. I have heard that 'draws' are usually suspect, but don't know firsthand. 8)how do all three women get draws? no tiebreakers?
Re: Usa v Ukraine
The home cooking wasn't just in Ukraine. It was also in Russia.
Re: Usa v Ukraine
It doesn't help when USAB only sends one official which was ridicules especially to eastern europe where history shows there has always been those type of decisions. If it was a money issue, maybe they could have skipped sending a technical advisor when you already had two coaches.

Re: Usa v Ukraine
Thank you JMAC I totally agree!!!!But these are the stupid choices that USABOXING has been making here lately...
Re: Usa v Ukraine
With a second USA official, Team USA would have won a few more bouts in the Ukraine as it would have been the typical international dual - 4 officials, two from each country. When you have a Ukrainian ref, you have 2 USA judges and 1 Ukrainian judge. Then when you have a USA ref, you have 2 Ukrainian judges and 1 USA judge. Makes the odds better of winning bouts.
Re: Usa v Ukraine
Exactly! I can tell you from experience that in many countries, especially in eastern Europe and Asia, judges will almost never vote against their own country in a dual match. That's why we need to send 2 officials to any dual to have at least half a chance at a fair decision. In the tournament in Russia, the only way to guarantee a win was to stop your opponent.Dennis wrote:With a second USA official, Team USA would have won a few more bouts in the Ukraine as it would have been the typical international dual - 4 officials, two from each country. If anyone has any videos of the bouts, I would like to see them.
