Most people will forgive arrogance if it's backed up by a) performance and/or b) wit. If you have one or both of those, people may not love you but they won't mind watching. If you don't, people will just think you're an @rse. Worse still if it's accompanied by bitterness.

Is it arrogance of is it blind faith in himself? For instance, I've had many conversations with religious types who are, normally, perfectly rational, questioning, intelligent individuals who instantly change when the issue of religion arises. They put up a defensive shield that could be interpreted as either arrogance or merely an expression of their blind, unrelenting faith - or both.

I've had that with people who have gone into AA. You can make jokes about sleeping with their mum, wife, kids, priest whatever but as soon as AA comes up, the slightest hint that you are questioning the program and the defences come up and its time to leave.

Even though Mick Dennis is a bit of a knob, at least he questioned David Haye's constant smack talk and saying that whilst it might sell a few more PPV's the vast majority of people thought he was making an arse of himself - both the Harrison and Klitschko fights.

You're absolutely right. I always read the major newspapers after a big fight. They are always littered with errors, the writers often come across as knowing nothing about boxing and just being blokes who cover a lot of sports with a pub level knowledge of boxing at best.

I think Khan is the sourest loser I have ever seen in British boxing.He really is a total clown of the highest order, campaigning the sanctioning bodies.

I've got huge respect for Khan in the way he took his career forward post-Prescott.

However, he's not shown himself in a good light since last week. He wasn't robbed in any shape or form against Peterson.

But it's more his ignorance than his arrogance that's starting to get on my nerves.

He sat on Ringside saying how Ward would be in front of his home town fans (he's boxing thousands of miles from them) and then in his mealy mouthed praise of Brook he observed that he (Brook) has been fighting blokes he was expected to blow away in a couple of rounds. What, like N'Dou and Jackiewicz who, whilst limited at world level, had never been stopped?

He seems to say the first thing that comes into his head, which is dangerous when there isn't a lot going on there.

I still like him a lot but he's grating lately.

If some presenter who was equipped with the facts would challenge Khan on his constant misinformed bullshit it would be interesting to see how he would respond. Fair call, he definately also refered to his opponent also post fight. I personally don't think round 5 is a particularly late stoppage.

I think its only natural for Khan to show a bit of "needle" there. Infact, I would probably be worried if Khan said "wow wow wee wow, fantastic Kell". Their names have been mentioned a few times together in the media. Nobody really slagged of Cleverly for practically scoffing Bellew's credentials after the first McKenzie fight (I think it was).
