This is very harsh in my opinion. You've looked at it from the pessimist side of things. An Old Glen Johnson has beaten and competed with many good fighters, age does not affect johnson. Direll came to run and didn't do enough to rip the title from Froch, Close rounds got scored to Froch just as the close rounds got scored for kessler in his away fight. Kessler was a good effort that he arguably won, jermain taylor was a mesmerising comeback at the end. Or Taylor boxed his head off for 11 and a half rounds; Abraham was ujust a big banger at midleweight who done nothing at Super. Theere was no argument about the Kessler fight. It was clear as day. On another note, Calzaghe would have made Ward quit. Calzaghe was truly under appreciated and its just a shame that a tournament like the super six came shortly after his retirement
is this the same guy who I certainly see sweating against Bika? Calzaghe loved a tear up, he would have gone into the fight with little love lost for Carl. Are people telling me he would have not engaged and stood and traded at some point with Carl? Styles make fights and Ward was just all wrong for Froch. Speed kills! Calzaghe waited until Jones and Hopkins slowed and he still struggled to be fair.
Many of our own fighters gave Calzaghe problems. I dont think Calzaghe could have schooled Carl like he did Lacy. It would have been a cracker - and dont forget - Froch wanted the fight, Calzaghe had plenty of chances to take the fight and never seemed keen to me.
Still, Calzaghe was a great British world champ - just as Froch was. We should be proud of what both achieved.
