It was actually twice; he was down once in the third (got up at 9 and was likely saved by the bell) and once in the fourth. Given that Salido is considered a durable fighter, it was surprising to see him hurt badly against a mediocre opponent who isn't a reputed puncher.

I don't think preparation was an issue; he looked sharp during the first 2.5 rounds and dominated until the knockdown. However, he got careless due to his success and left himself open to a perfect counter punch that proved difficult to recover from. Once he got his senses back he battered Haya as he did prior to being dropped in the third.

The full fight is on YouTube and I''ve posted the third and fourth rounds below. I thought Salido was down for 10 seconds in the fourth, but the referee counted slowly.
