Mundine's New Year's Resolution: To fight in the USA
Mundine's New Year's Resolution: To fight in the USA
Today's Daily Tele has an interview with the Man about his ambitions(?) to fight in the USA, to be the best and to be the people's champion.
The article can be read HERE.
Sounds like the same old stuff he has been sprouting for years and the pigs have been cleared for take-off!

Maybe fenech can sell him some watches as well as help him getting fights in the USA.
Re: Mundine's New Year's Resolution: To fight in the USA
Fenech has dropped a peg or two because of this...
Re: Mundine's New Year's Resolution: To fight in the USA
Jeff can probably see a buck in it, BUT if he can make something happen and then Mundine weazels his way out of fighting over there then the criticism will be justified. However, if Jeff can make it happen and actually get Choc over there and maybe a fight with Trout on US soil (which I think financially wont be as rewarding as here) then he should be given a pat on the back.
I hope Choc does get over there. His last fight performance he dominated and looked very good. As long as Trout is his target and not one of the mega stars I hope it comes off. Not that i think it will !

The US is a lot closer to Argentina, so he won't have to spend as much money flying in his opponents.
Re: Mundine's New Year's Resolution: To fight in the USA
I read in the news this morning that Mundine is changing the goal posts already.
First he wants Chavez at middleweight, then the following fight he would be willing to concede 18kgs to fight Wlodarczyk. FFS!
And here I was starting to get excited about the new fan freindly ambitious Mundine.... Sigh...

This is the very last time I will ask this question, has Anthony ever explained what happened to the Kessler mandatory at SMW? I know most of us believe he ducked Kessler but was there ever an official reason given?

If Mundine ever makes it to the USA, no doubt the first place he will visit will be Disneyland to visit his favourite place: Fantasyland!
Re: Mundine's New Year's Resolution: To fight in the USA
Mundine just posted on Twitter that the Chevez fight isn't happening, but they are still working towards other top line opponents.

If he fights Trout & beats him he will two up on Green, they have both had a real title once, but his one up on him because he beat him.
Re: Mundine's New Year's Resolution: To fight in the USA
Mundine's attempt a getting a bout against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr has failed with Julio knocking back the Man, because Mundine is not enough a drawcard in the USA.
Well, who would have thought that!
