Nathans ONLY credentials for a fight with Carl right now is that he is British. So many bigger and better opponents out there for Carl

It must be silly season on the funny farm, judging by all these Nathan Cleverley fanatics suddenly coming out of the woodwork. Someone on the previous page even said that Froch 'can't knock Cleverley out' because he 'isn't a puncher' and Nathan has a 'fine chin'.

People who don't understand the concept of levels in boxing really irritate me, I don't want to come across as a d*ck on here but it's a shame how much ill-informed nonsense is being spewed around while other knowledgeable boxing fans are trying to have a reasonable discussion.

Maybe Froch will do to Natham what Calzaghe did to him.... look for bigger fights offering more money?

Of course we aren't talking Las Vegas ... but Nathan had the chance to have the Bellew fight in Cardiff. But went into the lions den instead.

Froch is not a big puncher at elite level. Against a domestic fighter who has been rocked before by sub-par foes (Cleverley) he is a big puncher. EG, when Froch flattened Damon Hague, who went down like he was hit by a train. LEVELS! It really isn't hard to understand.

Want to argue Cleverley is more than a domestic fighter? If you can find a sensible basis for that, sure. (And no, the fact that he holds a paper title won against a bum isn't a good reason). Can't find a reason that makes sense? Maybe that's because he has only fought domestic competition and we've seen him struggling against guys he would be wiping out if he was world class.

Nathan is a decent enough fighter but he has just had a tough fight to settle who is amongst the best two or three 175lbers in Europe. Carl lost widely to Ward but is top three in his division. Pascal would be favoured to beat Nathan at the moment and Froch holds a clear win over him. Also bear in mind that Nathan is behind a creaking old man, a massively overrated southpaw slickster, a raw puncher and Nath is likely to spend the early part of 2012 building towards a fight with Enzo Mac. They're on totally different planets at the minute.

We need a seperate sub forum for Cleverly's fans, with the emphasis on sub.

Froch fans weren't exactly interested in Froch's atnding when they wanted the Calzaghe fight when Froch was still British champion. Froch is on a different level to Clev at the moment, but if he was to move up it's a title shot, worth consideration at least.

I think Froch has said before that he (rightly) doesn't value worthless paper titles. If he somehow was to get offered the fight, it would be a nice comeback/stay busy fight. But he's not into those either, as it seems he will go straight into the Bute fight if Bute wants it.

This thread has been good for a laugh. I'm hoping the Bute two fight series comes off for Froch but if that doesn't happen and he can't get a rematch with Kessler, I'd love nothing more than seeing him do a number on Clev to give some people a hefty dose of reality.

I have nothing against Clev but he's a complete novice compared to Froch and has yet to face anyone near world level. Some of the fans on here are worse than Pac fans

Gomez's post is probably the closest to reality, although Matchroom are a worse evil than Warren in boxing, especially now.

Despite the unlikelyhood of it happening, it's still the fight i'd love to see. Froch never got his big domestic fight and this fight would sell big.

I'm sure they could forget the title, make it at 12st 4 lbs or something like that and whack it on in a big venue in Nottingham or maybe Birmingham.

Cleverly has it all to prove and hasn't boxed anywhere near this level before, but his youth, brains and winning mentality would make for a good fight to enjoy.
