Do you have records of current Amateur boxers???
Re: Boxers Amateur records:
Some posters on this forum probably have national and international records. If you are looking for UK records, www.warriorboxing.com is an excellent forum. What, or who, are you looking for?

Current UK & Irish Amateurs... Each time I try to get information on them, it comes down to medals won, but not their fight records.boxmel wrote:What, or who, are you looking for?
Re: Boxers Amateur records:
In the past Amateur boxing records were credible and held in great esteem. Boxers like Greg Page were noted for their fantastic Amateur record.
These days it seems no one is keeping tally.
I just tried to check Paddy Barnes Amteur record and it comes up:
European Gold Medallist, etc....

Re: Boxers Amateur records:
Amateur boxers have national and international record books that they have to have with them at every boxing show they compete in. Nobody from the national or international offices keep track of each boxers record. Most high level boxers compete often and when at tournaments could have up to 5 bouts if they get to the finals. Only the boxer and his coach know his actual record. When they turn pro, the amateur record usually gets inflated when asked what it was.

I HATE when u see some kid going pro and they list him as 154-3 as an amateur....it would take winning A LOT OF tournaments to suffer only three losses in that many fights...and usually it will be a thing where the guy with a listed 3 losses is someone I can verify with at least 7 or 8...

It's better to just say you had a lot of fights instead of lying. But I guess if no on every calls them out, the general public has no clue and it sounds good. It's a shame that we don't keep better track of competition like in other sports. Maybe one day.ICEMAN JOHN SCULLY wrote:I HATE when u see some kid going pro and they list him as 154-3 as an amateur....it would take winning A LOT OF tournaments to suffer only three losses in that many fights...and usually it will be a thing where the guy with a listed 3 losses is someone I can verify with at least 7 or 8...

Re: Boxers Amateur records:
other than the 3 sites mentioned, you can go to either the sites for the tournaments or sites that cover the tournaments or sometimes their local or national boxing committee will have pdf files of tournament results where you can see the opponents they beat and the scores, but of course this is not going to be all in one place. you would have to go from tournament to tournament.
