Would you travel after reading this?
Ok do we all know us Brits have a bad rep when it comes to traveling over seas. We all know about the bars in Ibiza and we all know about being robbed in a boxing ring.
After watching Del Boys last outing (not khans) I didn't think it could get any worse but it seems it can. I've just heard Ryan Barrett was given a DRAW after knocking a Danish fighter down 3 times in round 5 of an 8 round contest!
Yeah you guessed it the fight was in Denmark!
So if the BBB of C are investigating a fight where the ref says stop pushing (a lot) that was shown around the world and involved a big name fighter will they do the same for a small hall fighter that probably doesn't give them as much money but still pays his due's

If that's true that is outrageous. The results say a 5 rnd TD?

Barrett said "Win every round knock the guy over, the guy gets tko'd in round 5 n then they change there mind n give a draw how does that work???"
He also said he have the fight and video/dvd/bluray etc and will put it on YT

A draw may be a completely fair result even if a fighter is dropped three times. It wasn't a one round fight.

Have there been many fights where guy gets knocked down and counted out in round 5 for it to be given a draw?crusader wrote:A draw may be a completely fair result even if a fighter is dropped three times. It wasn't a one round fight.
Re: Would you travel after reading this?
Do the math yourself. If a good case can be made that someone won 4 of 5 rounds, then a draw is a fair result even if that boxer suffered three knockdowns.
Re: Would you travel after reading this?
Here is a report on the fight. Apparently Barrett scored only one knockdown and was deducted two points for a headbutt.

JMM-Pac I. It can happen. But not having seen this fight I don't feel I can comment on it.
Re: Would you travel after reading this?
The report was correct. Bruun was down once. Barrett was deducted 2 points for the headbutt that ended the fight. I had it 47-46 for Barrett at ringside. I can't see how one of the judges could have the fight 47-45 for Bruun though. Bruuns corner was also pissed, because they wanted Barrett to be disqualified for the but . From where I was sitting it was borderline intentional.

Barrett also complained bitterly of a robbery after losing 10 of 12 rounds to Willie Limond.

After seeing the video no way was that an intentional head butt! A jab sent the guys head back Barrett went to the body (where he was having great success) and the heads came together.

Re: Would you travel after reading this?
its got nothing to do with borders or nationalities or travelling.you get dodgy decisions all over the world at all levels .ive seen journeymen like billy smith get robbed lots of times, just cos hes fighting kids that (supposedly )were on their way up. and that was in his own country. then you look at the disgrace of paq v marquez 3, at the very highest level. I would like to say that its all the promoters/moneymen's fault, but it even happens at all levels of amatuer boxing too.
maybe its time that they looked at other ways of scoring fights, or at least looking at ways of vetting judges. especially in cases where one judge is completely at odds with the others in clearcut fights

What a bad cut!
Did they have rules that if there's a cut that stops the fight from a headbut then it's a draw?
I had Barrett winning the fight easily before it was stopped.

Watched it again and that is home cooking at it''s finest; utterly shameful stuff. Bruun's cornnerman also seems like a jerk.
