i think i heard george one time i state he was scared to fight jerry quarry. now whether he said that or not, i still think foreman would have beat quarry buts its interesting that came up because foreman never did fight quarry.
i could see why he would be afraid to fight qaurry, quarry has a terrific chin and a lot of heart and it would be harder for george to knock him out, not to mention quarry could punch hard. i think foreman probably was worried about him when quarry beat lyle then knocked out earnie shavers.
what ur thoughts on either quarry giving foreman trouble or possibly foreman ducking quarry?

Of course, George would have been the favorite, but Jerry Quarry would have had an excellent chance of beating Foreman. At his best, he was a skilled counterpuncher, with a good chin. If you saw the Quarry Lyle fight, you could get a good idea of how Jerry would have fought George. Lyle had very similar skills to Foreman, as their classic back and forth war demonstrated, and I beleive he had much better stamina, yet Quarry was able to outbox and out hustle Lyle, and I would say that he would have had an excellent chance of doing the same thing against George. In fact, if Quarry survived the first 5 rounds, he probably had a good chance of stopping George.
I think if Foreman had faced Quarry in 69 when he was still raw, then I think there's a good chance that Quarry catches him early and knocks some of George's confidence out, then goes on to dictate the rest of the fight in route to a decision victory. Maybe even in 70 Quarry could still pull it off, but after that Foreman is just too deadly, and with his punching power and solid chin, combined with Quarry's less than perfect defense, I think Big George scores a KO somewhere between the 3rd and 6th rounds. Both fighters would land there shots, but Foreman's would be harder, and his ability to withstand his opponents would be clearly better.
