This one somehow reminds me of the excellent light heavyweight Johnny Persol and his series of successes in the '60s against slower and much heavier guys. (until he ran into Jimmy Ellis, who wasn't so slow)

This might work out for Roy IF he doesn't get tapped. If Oscar gets lucky, Roy goes to sleep. Odds are Roy COULD thread the needle, but I'm not sure I'd be willing to bet on it.

Oscar would be outsped but he applied way too much active pressure for a natural super middle with questionable durability such as Roy.

It is an interesting one. Oscar Bonavena had one of the toughest chins and was only stopped once in his career and that was by Muhammed Ali and he needed 15 rounds to do it. in and has plenty of dig in his punches as he famously dropped Joe Frazier twice in the first round of their first fight but Frazier got back into and beat him twice in their fights and even he could not drop Bonavena in 25 rounds of fighting (the first fight was a 10 rounder, and the second in a 15 round world title fight) and he would probably wobble Jones a couple of times along the way. But I can just see Roy Jones's superior handspeed, accurate punching and boxing brain will cut and mark up Bonavena and stop him late.

While not exactly Floyd Patterson, Ringo wasn’t really that slow. Plus his style was quite unusual, and his odd punching angles even seemed to cause some problems for Ali, so I don’t think RJJ would have had as easy a time as he had with Ruiz. In fact, I guess I'll be in the minority and favor Bonavena in this matchup.

Nobody had an easy time with Ringo and that included some pretty fast guys as well. RJJ, as great as he was, has had the grand total of one heavyweight fight in his career and it was regarded as a bit of an upset when he beat Ruiz. I really doubt RJJ could stay clear of Ringo for 12 let alone 15 rounds but I'm sure he would have his moments en route to a late tko loss.

Castro had a similar fighting style to Bonavena's. Obviously the size was drastically different, but I don't think the angles would be an issue.

Oscar, clean KO anytime after the 9th. He walks through everything Roy has got, and just catches up with him eventually. Though not fast by any means he was certainly no John Ruiz.
