Why are they flinging Ormond to the lions soon? How on earth does he get a world title shot afterward? Wtf is a weggie?

Is it April in Dublin already? As much as I like him, Ormond is nowhere near ready for someone like Mitchell and it would be very one sided unless Mitchell goes off on another pre-Katsidis binge.

I said it months ago on this forum after seeing him at Braehead , Ormond will be a world champion . However , against a fit and motivated Kevin Mitchell - I'm not sure he's ready for that . But , if Mitchell comes in anything less than ready - Ormond will win . Personally I don't think this fight will happen .

This is a huge step up in class for Ormond. I can't see who he has fought that would suggest he could even beat a half arsed Kevin Mitchell.

I take it this is the same fella that Carl Johannsen was supposed to be fighting for "The Vacant Intercontinental WBO Lightweight title" so would assume that will be on offer

Yep it will be . Why not put Mitchell in with Burns in March this is pointless fight. Apparently Burns v Mitchell is happening in the summer. Will Burns be matched tough next if this is the case?

FW will say Mitchell needs the tune up - but at the end of the day he needs to fill his tv channel with some cards doesnt he.

Basically Burns next fight is going to be a soft one so Mitchell fight does not get spoiled.

We'll be seeing a lot of this IMO now to fill dates, The days of shows like the Magnificent 7 etc are a thing of the past!
Who will they put Burns in with? Matthews if he comes through in few rounds.

Ormond has bags of talent but I would have liked to see him step up gradually instead of jumping in at the the deep end, maybe get in 10 rounds against a decent operator first. Fair play to him for taking the fight and I hope he pulls it off.

You know it's bad when people are looking back at the magnificent 7 bill all misty eyed

I don't really mind this fight tbh and I've no problem with Frank trying to fill his schedule. Especially if it means for nights at York Hall Bigger bills 'should' still happen as that's how you get extra subscribers. I can't see too many people enrolling due to fights like this.

But then I don't think allegedly will be in it for long run

Big incentive Derry to get an early stoppage would imagine it be easy to make.
