I've had a few nights in cells, but not for about 10 years now, once me and a group of mates were put in a cell after a bit of banter got out of hand with another group , you know how these things happen.
I was about 17 at the time and when we were put in the cell, another bloke got put in, a complete nutter and built like a brick shithouse.
He told us that we had to rush the door when it was next opened, we all agreed to this as he was completly mad.
When the cell door opened by one of the coppers, he screamed out and ran at the door, we all sat on the floor and laughed.
We were then entertained to a great wrestling match with him and about 5 police, we even cheered when they finally subdued him .
I do miss those nights out

Further details have emerged on the Clifford Etienne situation. According to the Baton Rouge Advocate, a police affidavit alleges that the 35-year-old former heavyweight contender, wearing a mask, took $1,978 from a check-cashing business at gunpoint, discharging one shot. By chance, when he fled, he ran into several police officers, who gave chase. Etienne tried to escape by stealing a vehicle with two children inside, but was unable to start it. Etienne then pointed his weapon at police and pulled the trigger, but his gun malfunctioned. Etienne tried to steal another vehicle occupied by two children and their father. When the father resisted, Etienne tried to shoot him, but the gun malfunctioned twice. Etienne tried to drive away with the two children inside, but crashed the vehicle into a large curb where officers took him into custody.

that fight he had with clay bey on a lennox lewis undercard a few years back was a corker.Neri1983 wrote:Vey sad news this. He could have made very good money just by sticking to boxing. I always liked watching Ettiene even if he wasnt the best of heavyweights
his chin has got worse and worse just recently though.

Yeah, may have been the most entertaining bout on the card if I remember right. To be honest I thought Clay Bey looked a class above Etienne at times, but kept laying on the ropes and taking breathers. I remember at one point he even put his hands down and took many shots flush - which exposed Etienne's power somewhat. Every time he opened up, his punches looked of a higher quality than Etienne's to me, but he just didn't have any sort of workrate. What a predictable, dire, common story for a modern heavyweight.steve689 wrote:It was on the undercard of Lewis-Tua if i remember correctly, Cley Bey sat back and counterpunched while Etienne came forward and threw a lot of leather, his fight with Frans Botha was supposed to be good too although i have not seen it.
