Ricky Burns

Post by stujones »

It is mentioned on allegedly website that Ricky Burns will be moving up again by the end of the year. To try and be the first Scottish fighter to win a world title in 3 weights (although, he aint won a "true" world title at lightweight yet).

What do people think of this, personally I hope he sticks around at Lightweight for a bit longer first - after such an impressive display against Katisidis.

I'm just also wondering the beyond an obvious Mitchell (and possibly Murray) fight are "team Burns" already thinking there isn't many options for him at Lightweight.

There are no challengers in Europe apart from Romanov, who ain't boxed for ages.

Or John Murray.

I imagine the likes of Crolla, Matthews, Mitchell, Murray Harrison will be made.

That website is proper shit so would not place anythiung on it.

I thought Harrison, but wondered if that was going to be the Light Welter fight?

I hope Gavin Rees gets in the mix somewhere - he deserves a second world title stint ahead of (currently) Crolla and Matthews.

Indeed but dont imagine too many who not promoted by Burns promoted will want to be on there shows at present with rumours doing the rounds.

I actually think Matthews if he comes through his next fight easily will be choosen.

i cant see it to be honest , there are loads of great fights that can be made at 135 where Burns can build his name even more before eventually moving up in weight again.

Burns i think will stay at lightweight for around 2 years
