anyone else sick of the same repeats over and over?? I must of seen bellew/clev 6 times and burns katsidis about the same.
Surely mr warren must have thousands of hours of footage of naz etc that can be re shown instead of the same repeats over and over.
I also think i have seen the 2 worst pros of all time on his show from dusseldorf the 2 middleweights looked like theyd just been pulled in from the street
Who actually owns the rights to all those Sports Network fights with Naz, Joe C etc?
Is it Frank or would it have been his promotional company, Sports Network and when this went into administration did someone buy them?
Stupid question but I take it boxers don't get a royalty every time one of their old fights is shown like actors do? Wonder if boxers will try for this in the future when channels will be showing old fights in a continous reel.

Agreed, there are Many Many small shows that would love to be put on a live broadcast.

I would say the TV Company owns the rights - that's probably where there is an issue.
Remember Sky / ITV paid the Promotor to televise.
Similar to football.
Everyone had to buy the rights even for delayed coverage.
The Club owns nowt.
Likewise the boxer gets nowt on replays.
As for the small hall shows I have to agree. I really thought BN would have been looking to show these.
How no one wanted to show Dave Coldwell's show at the Magna with Curt and Ryan top of the bill I don't know as an example.

Its a good question, it seems a complex issue. Even though boxing on TV ends with a copyright to the Broadcaster, it doesn't seem to be that easy. I remember Sportnetwork withdrawing a lot of youtube versions of old ITV "big fight" clips (even for those clips that played the fantastic theme tune) - it stated the rights were owned by SportsNetwork.
However, don't really see any "thanks to" credit when ITV chose to repeat or show clips from old boxing shows.
allegedly has shown a fair amount of repeat from the Sport Network archive (early Khan fights etc).

But it all costs money and without sky money and low ticket sales for shows, where is the money going to come from?

allegedly is a TV Channel - so obviously the money comes from the broadcaster.
There is no competition with the small hall promotors so surely this would be a great start point for BN to show live boxing ?
How many times have you heard it said that a cracking show was missed ?

Thanks for the insight and the only reason I asked was because I remember a few years ago Don King selling the rights to his fight collection for £300m so wasn't sure if the promotor or the TV nework had the rights and then if it was the promoter with sports network being wound up who actually had the right to the rights..
Why not just invite an old pro in for a three course dinner and a few drinks and get him to talk about his career for an hour? That can't cost much to make. That kind of content is priceless.
The potential for this channel is limitless but they need to think less like a TV channel and more like an extension of web sites like boxrec.
I agree. There cant be a person that has subscribed that hasnt seen Cleverly v Bellew & Cotto v Margarito. Surely the powers that be would have had something up their sleeves instead of repeats after repeats.

they were both unbeaten aswell which is unreal - imagine what one of our 4-0 lads would of done with them.
At least put a live small hall show on or SOMETHING!!!
