I read eight hundred thousand dollars was being offered to Peterson.
Elsewhere, on another site, I read Macklin's claim that Sturm wanted 40% of Macklin's future earnings, as a contract stipulation, should they have signed a rematch and Macklin had won. Macklin said this is why he went in a different direction, rather than agree to face Sturm again.
I've previously heard that these sort of stipulations crop up quite a bit in Klitschko title fight contracts.
What happened to the idea that you were the main man when you're world champion ? Khan lost, so he's now a contender. It is absurd for anyone in that position to start dictating terms to the new champ. An ex-champ is an ex-champ. When you win a world title, the idea is everything changes, you shouldn't be tied to a contract that dictates who you fight, on who's shows, and for whatever purses. Win the title, and the world is your oyster. What a dirty, greedy sport it can be sometimes.
The net payment to Peterson, from a gross of 800k, won't be a lot considering he has worked his entire life to get into this exact position in boxing. I hope he tells Khan to shove it, and takes whatever route he chooses.

I think the finger of blame will be pointed at you next TJ77, everyone else is getting the blame so its probably just a matter of timeTJ77 wrote:Would be very interested to know how much Team Khan are offering him and also who else will they look to blame for the loss ?? :??
And while we're on the subject, I'd like to know where you were on the night in question, and can you verify your whereabouts for the ten minutes between the end of the fight and the scores being handed to the MC ?!
