Khan is descending into madness! It's actually startling to see. This loss has seemingly snapped his brain. The way he is clinging at straws is just pathetic and convinces me more than ever he will lose to Peterson again. He is just not that good, as many always suspected.

So Khan says the man is unidentified? Has anyone else said he was unidentified? Or is this Khan twisting the facts as he has done multiple times throughout his career regarding opponents supposedly turning offers down etc? Send him to the loony bin.

Has anyone identified him? Surely that is the point. These pictures have been circulating for more than 24 hours yet no one has actually stepped forward and just said "yeah, that's ......, he was with the DC Commission" or whatever.

It's an easy theory to disprove if the guy just steps forward. But he hasn't, has he? And no one has said they know who he is.

Maybe the old fella isn't on Twitter? Ever thought about that? How many of these 60 year old boxing commish guys are on the internet every day?

He was sat with De la Hoya. The idea that is a complete unknown is ridiculous. Keep clutching at straws Amir, Peterson was the better man.

He clearly isn't a 60-year-old guy and the IBF commissioner is the other side of Welsh. The point is not whether this guy has checked Twitter, the point is that this has been top of the news yet not one person has said they know who he is.

Seriously, this is descending into farce. Peterson won, get over it. Look into whatever you like, strange men in hats, referee's whatever. Fact is Peterson landed the harder blows, did the damage, obeyed the rules, didn't repeatedly foul and rightly get deducted points and won the fight. Could Khan have beaten him if things went a little differently, could he win a rematch? Certainly. But the fight that actually happened, he lost. Stop whinging, move on, he beat you because you have a ton of flaws, go away and fix them and stfu.

If Khan won that fight 118-110 and lost by SD then fine, wail away pudendum face. But I had him losing, and for the deductions? Khan was warned enough before points were taken. Khan is being a twat here - GBP are not looking for the result being overturned, they're looked for a guranteed rematch.

pudenda.

Devils Advocate time; if you were going to fix scorecards, would you do it in wide open view of the boxing media and a worldwide audience of millions ?!?!

To indulge the conspiracy theory of Khan, lets imagine he is right and there was a deliberate fixing of the scorecards. Presumably, even Amir would acknowledge that such a thing would be cooked up in advance, rather than somebody just deciding there and then to fix the fight. So, if it was planned in advance, do you really think for one second that they would have carried out the dirty work in full view of the media and television audience ? Bolloks.

Fight outcomes are not fixed in this way. It is behind closed doors, in advance, with no witnesses.

I'd explain more about that, but there's somebody knocking on my front door all of a sudden. When he walked past the window I could have sworn it was Terry Marsh....

Breaking news on Sky Sports, the mystery man was someone who is accredited with the IBF but wasn't assigned the fight and shouldn't have been where he was. According to Richard Shaeffer some "extraordinary and shocking news" will come out this weekend when further investigations will be pursued. GBP will apparantly be pushing for the fight to be ruled a NC.

Clearly this is just a British controversy so far, otherwise an American would have stepped up and ID'd the fella. When Barry Hunter was on Sky Sports he didn't know anything about it, neither did other American fight people I talked to today. By tomorrow someone will name the fella, I'm sure, probably before then

Best post of 2012! All we need to know now is how is he going to get himself out of this one? Keep an eye out for 'hatman' in older fights changing the history of boxing forever...

What would the mystery man have done that altered the result? ODLH checked George Hill's individual card (the one that created controversy due to a round being changed on the mastercard) and admitted there were no irregularities, and Valerie Dorsett's card hasn't been called into question once .

The IBF has also stated that their mastercard was not tampered with, and the mystery man cannot be seen harrasing any IBF official, so I'm inclined to believe them.

The rules actually state you're not allowed to push your opponent "around the ring or into the ropes".
Fouls

A foul is an action by a boxer, identified by the referee, that does not meet the standard of a fair blow or the conduct of a responsible professional fighter. Fouls may include, but are not limited to, the following types of contact or acts:
1. Hitting an opponent below the navel or behind the ear;
2. Hitting an opponent who is knocked down;
3. Holding an opponent with one hand and hitting with the other;
4. Holding or deliberately maintaining a clinch;
5. Wrestling, kicking or roughing;
6. Pushing an opponent about the ring or into the ropes;
7. Butting with the head, shoulder, knee, elbow;
8. Hitting with the open glove, the butt or inside of the hand, or back of the hand,

the elbow or the wrist;
9. Purposely falling down onto the canvas of the ring without being hit or for the

purpose of avoiding a blow;

10. Striking deliberately at that part of the body over the kidneys;
11. Using the pivot blow (pivoting while throwing a punch) or the rabbit punch

(punches thrown to the back of the head and neck areas);
12. Jabbing the eyes with the thumb of the glove;
13. Use of abusive language;
14. Unsportsmanlike conduct causing injury to an opponent that does not meet the
standard of a fair blow;
15. Hitting on the break;
16. Intentionally spitting out the mouthpiece;
17. Hitting on or out of the ropes;
18. Holding rope and hitting;
19. Biting/spitting;
20. Not following referee's instructions;
21. Stepping on opponent;
22. Crouching below opponent's belt;
23. Leaving neutral corner; and
24. Corner second shouting.

Its not so much the mystery man tampering with the cards, its the fact that the mystery man is not allowed to be there, you dont have a premiership ref bring his mate along to walk along side him during the game. Its a world title fight not a sparring session.

It's no wonder Khan is bleating on about conspiracies and all manner of crazy shit, just look who he is surrounded by. I'm not even talking about the back slapping crowd from Bolton either, I mean Golden Boy Promotions and the king of the whingers De La Hoya.

The same De La Hoya that said post fight after the Mosley rematch loss that he was going to try and get the decision reversed. The same DLH who, last year, told Paul McCloskey (rightly or wrongly) to stop complaining after the Khan fight because the officials' decision is final.

Yeah that's true Oscar, when it suits.

I can never recall such a fuss over a decision in my entire boxing life. Khan has spun this into the greatest travesty of all time. The mother of all robberies. Robert Smith called it right on the TV earlier. It was a close fight, where whoever won you could not really complain.

Were the points deductions fair? Well, Khan was said to have pushed or poked Peterson 47 times (according to the Boxing Truth radio, blame them if wrong!). Certain quarters are, in my opinion, angry at the ref because he didn't read the script.

Sorry for the rant but just had to get this off my chest. The look on Khan's face at the decision, after he was cockily kissing his fingers and raising his arm to the crowd, expecting it in the bag, was priceless though.

Ahh that's better... :oops:

It was a good fight and it's a shame for all that to get lost in this. I gave more rounds to Khan than did the judges, but that's to be expected for a home town fight, I thought the referee was very poor on the night (not Roger Tillerman in Reid Ottke poor just incompetent) and that's where Khan should focus his complaints if he has any.

There should be a rematch because there are questions over the ref and the fight was clsoe, but if you wanted to influence the judges why would you have a guy sit with them and do it, isn't that just a bit brazen. It's a shame this has been focused on so much in the media because it's something my non boxing fan mates are now focusing on, which is bad for the sport when a contest of that quality should be good for it.

Agreed this was a world title fight things have to be done by the book. You cant have some fella come along and "help out" the judges, sit in their seats, not watch the fight, do a bit of scoring when one nips to the loo. Its insane. Im suprised more people arent discusted at this - nothing to do with the outcome of the fight but the running of the sport becoming some type of amaturish joke.
Exactly. If the fighter in question was someone more liked by more people on here - Bellew, for example - there would be uproar. Leaving the identities of the fighters aside, this is as you say, an alteration of the process.
