roy jones jr vs joe frazier

Post by big train express »

at heavyweight. ali showed that frazier struggles with slick, elusive fighting. how would he fair against roy jones jr?

i say it plays out similarly to jones/ruiz but frazier takes more rounds based on aggression. jones wide UD.

Let me guess, you get your "inside" boxing knowledge from the pantywaist GianCollie, or whatever he calls himself nowadays.

Huh? Frazier struggled with slick fighters? Tell that to Jimmy Ellis. Or is this just a joke? If it is, good one.

I saw Frazier-Ellis. I have no doubt what would happen when Frazier fights another blown-up middleweight.

First or second round kayo by Frazier....either way the first left hook does it...and it would land early...Frazier was a fast wrecking ball only beaten by the very very best and toughest big men in history and this thread is an insult to that fact....Jones jnr v Frazier at HW ..those words should never be said in the same sentence.

You know I do feel Roy Jones gets under rated in BOTP but this is a horrible matchup for him.

Did you see the pressure Glen Johnson put on Roy? Imagine a much bigger better harder punching Frazier doing that.

Alis "slick elusive fighting" wasnt even in evidence with Frazier anyway....it took Ali's huge reserves of heart, courage, tactical acumen, rope a dope, underrated power to make Frazier "struggle" .....you couldnt dance more than a few rounds at a time with Joe he was too strong too fast too adept at cutting off the ring and taking a mans legs away with that body attack.

No, no, no... Frazier liked slick boxers. He overwhelmed them. Ali was just a very special fighter.

BUT...

Jones. Wow! What a man. I say after Roy has walked on water, found a cure for cancer, split the atom and communicated with the dead he wins KO1.

Smokin' Joe by brutal one punch KO.

It's actually scary that there are some people this stupid out there in the world.

I can only presume these Roy Jones, Klitschko brothers, Ike Ibeabuchi, Mike Tyson nuts are teenagers? Or at least in some form of arrested adolescence? Very bizarre followings these particular fighters seem to have.

I agree such primitive minded fans belong on youtube where the quality of character isnt.........sufficient..... for those of our ilk...men amongst boys and dogs.

Many a time at night I've looked out over the Oxford spires and wondered , can a new breed arise who amongst them will be a connosseur of a Foreman jab uppercut left hook combination in 1992 like I was as mere boy....will these fools ever realise the Tyson of 1988 had fear of Foreman, even as foolish trolls like Jeff Ryan called Foreman's comeback a joke.

Is anyone taking this seriously?

Jones carefully chose Ruiz, and wisely and cautiously exploited a momentary lapse in the HW division's defense.

Do you imagine for a nanosecond that Mr Jones would initiate such an event if Joe was standing guard? Pleeeeaassee...

Did anyone see "My Cousin Vinnie"? Frazier rapes Jones in about a nanosecond and grabs the money and walks out of the stadium. The way Pesci did to the redneck.

What's insulting about: "I saw Frazier-Ellis. I have no doubt what would happen when Frazier fights another blown-up middleweight."

Frazier never struggled with slick, elusive fighting. Ali managed to beat him twice out of three times, all competitive fights. Keep in mind that Ali was a big man, 6'3" with 78 inch reach and fit as as a flea at 215lb, not to mention one of the best chins in boxing history - a chin that he depended on to beat Frazier, who landed flush many times in all three fights.

Jones is undoubtedly an all-time great, but he only won a heavyweight strap because he fought John Ruiz - one of the worst titleholders in the division's history. There's no way his chin could stand up to a flush Frazier left hook, it's just a matter of when. I just can't see a scenario when Jones ever wins this fight.

Frazier showed what he did to Lt. Heavies when Foster moved up to try his hand. Roy would be no different.

I'm sorry but I have to ask...

You do realise that there's a big difference in class between John Ruiz and Joe Frazier? Don't you?

Big Train Express & Nancy are the two opposites of the Frazier spectrum.

Both are way out of sync with reality, but at least BTE posts don't drip with the sickening man-love we constantly get from dear old Nancy.
