Just noticed I posted this in the Hypo Match-Up Game thread back in 2010.
Takers? Hard to be sure, honestly, but Im thinking Jeffries MIGHT decision him?

I have Foreman by stoppage. Jeffries chin was amazing in his time, but Fitzsimmons was no Foreman. I don't think he can stand up to the incoming.

Well, its tough to know.
Thats the frustrating thing about Jeffries. Ive always had this suspicion he could be a force in any age, but how to rate him with gloves (and opponents) that small, boxing over such long distances.

Not sure Forman would be able to stop him. It took Johnson a long time to break Jefferies down when he was shot.
Would Foreman have the stamina to fight in the 30 round era?
If we're talking 12/15 rounds I'd think Jefferies wins a decision. Anything above that and 1 of them's getting sparked.

Foreman (young or old) would not have been well-suited to the distances of Jeffries' day, especially under a hot Mid-western sun at non, but on the other hand, what sort of damage could he dole out with 4 oz. gloves!? It would be unreal.
Man, Id love to see this. Foreman was smart, patient and powerful in his comeback, and his jab was arguably the best in the division in the early-90's (crazy, yet true), but I wonder if that lack of an explosive edge, owing to age and obesity, could bring him undone? Maybe he hurts Jeffries but, robbed of the intensity of his youth, cant finish and gets out-worked down the stretch? I doubt Jeffries could stop him --- like Jeffries himself, Foreman was teak-tough.
Titanic struggle in the clinch, too. Awfully strong guys.

Oh damn, I was answering prime Foreman, Tilted a few last night. Yeah, I would probably go with Jeffries by decision.
