What do most people when not in work or sat by the computer?
Last Xmas I had ACL surgery and took up riding a bike so to build the knee back up.
I have got to say in the beginning it was a complete chore, I didn`t realize just how much effort it took, but these last few months it has turned into a real buzz.
Got some excellent mountains around here and whilst they do the building of the knee on the way up its the coming down that gets the grin factor.
I`m still probably the fattest and slowest mountain biker on the way up but got to be the fastest on the way down, got so many new scars on the legs I`m surprised the knee has held up at all...the first thing the wife says when I come in is `how many times you fall off this time` but its definetly a good bit of exercise and I try to get out for an hour at least every day, how many others here do similar?

Well my interests outside of boxing are taking part in other sports (tennis and rugby). Watching all other sports especially football, Rugby, cricket, tennis, athletics and many many others.
I have dabbled in Rock climbing but I've lost contact with my mates who were into that in a big way so not doing it much.
As my biog on BBN says - I'm sport mad and am determined to make my job sport orientated through whatever means. I enjoy even watching my local Rugby side getting thrashed or keep time for my mate who hopefully will be running the 800 metres in the Commonwealths.
Music - Playing, singing, writing and listening. I can play most instruments but play mainly on the rhythm guitar and keyboards. Won a few singing competitions in my youth and still do backing vocals for my brother (who has had a few CD's made).
I also help out the family with the pedigree sheep (cue jokes). Trying to get a website up and running and help out in the preperation for shows - takes a fair amount of time.

About 10 years ago as a fit but fat 31yr old, I decided to really start training
In that time I have dropped 4 st and now run marathons and do a lot of free weights
Recently, I wanted to do a bit more study, so thought I should target something that may be of use in the future, so I am in the middle of a course to become a professional personal trainer. Bit hard to fit it into my hectic schedule as I am out of the country in the US and Europe every few weeks, but so far, I seem to be doing OK
I have about 20 people I am training informally ( without payment ) just as a "gym buddy" and it is incredibly rewarding. I can see myself giving up this book publishing lark at some stage and doing this full time.

Writing and drawing.
Taking a sabbatical from competitive football this year. Hopefully not retirement but trying to give this boxing writing a bit of a whirl and to do it I need to get to more shows.
Cricket, retired three years ago, miss it occasionally.
Other than that, I play pool in a local pub league, bit of PS2, a pint (but its all shit down south and expensive).
Oh yeh, better mention the family etc.....

the popular argument that online poker is rigged is totally bogus. There exists a piece of software called pokertracker which logs all hands, and all it would take would be one player who reported inconsistencies over thousands of hands and they'd be sued to bolivian. Millions play frequently.
Poker is about the LOOOOOONG term, not the infrequent times when you get outdrawn. If you have a solid game you can win consistently as many players do.

Forgot there was another Millers fan on hereFoggy wrote:I must be really boring the only interests other to boxing is football (following my team Rotherham United) and going to pubs & having a good drink
Have high hopes for this season. can't see us conceding many and Butler coming back to form is like a like a new signing and we put the Spireshite curse to bed on Saturday

I disagree, if you've ever played on the server that willhill/betfair/littlewoods share few more too, then you would know that bad beats dont come as a shock to anyone on there, the hands are pathetic and usually favours the higher stack.Riddick Blowe wrote:the popular argument that online poker is rigged is totally bogus. I think if Burton can notch a few in, him and Butler could a brilliant strike force.Slapsie Maxie wrote:Forgot there was another Millers fan on hereFoggy wrote:I must be really boring the only interests other to boxing is football (following my team Rotherham United) and going to pubs & having a good drink![]()

I went to watch them against Walsall at Millmoor last week and they looked to be playing well, really unlucky to lose, we seem to have signed quite a few new players and from what i saw it looks like they have a new source of determination within the squad, they played together as a team (which makes a change from last season).

it sometimes seems like the big stack is favoured when playing online poker. You tend to remember more when you got unlucky than when your hand holds up. over a short span of hands, luck can work out that one player gets some amazing outdraws.. like rolling a dice and getting 3 consecutive 2's. But in the long term, the odds of poker prevail. If they didn't, willhill would have been sued by now, trust me. There have been literally millions of hands played there- a very representative sample- and ALL of those stats are recordable. If it were rigged, they would NEVER supply a hand history- it's just an invitation to litigation.lvlarc_uk wrote:I disagree, if you've ever played on the server that willhill/betfair/littlewoods share few more too, then you would know that bad beats dont come as a shock to anyone on there, the hands are pathetic and usually favours the higher stack.Riddick Blowe wrote:the popular argument that online poker is rigged is totally bogus. Dancing, not as in ballroom, just letting it go onthe dancefloor, which is usually accompanied by my other great passtime getting pissed and fucked up.
However, having just hit 14st 11 lbs, and nearing my record high of 15 stone I am about to go on the wagon for a month. During this time I will be rejoning the gym and buying a rowing machine and rediscovering my love of exercising and bit less of eating and cooking, two of my other great passions.
Other passtimes include, writing, currently working on a children's book, and quite possibly a boxing book soon. singing, bit of design work now and then.
Oh, and shagging, when the opportunity presents itself.

Cycle to work most days , go to the gym now and again.
Was helping out with a local football team for the last couple of years, but got pissed off the the non-effort of some of the players. So just go to watch now and again.
I've been thinking about setting up a boxing club for a while, can get use of the local Catholic church hall, and have some equipment, theres nothing else in the town for the kids to do, so might put some more effort in getting it together.
Anyone know how you go about getting your coaching badges from the ABA?
