i reckon only leonard sneaks a win over monzon in this division - however i would pay a lot of money to see hagler try his luck

Hagler has the best chance against him but Monzon would be favoured to win. The others....forget it. Welterweights and lightweights V a monster of a middleweight. wtf?

Tall, long reach and very durable with a show stopping right hand. But his ring intelligence was his best asset. He wasn't quick but he had great timing and was a ruthless finisher.

Excellent description. Always thought it was amazing how few punches he wasted. Looked slow at times but his timing was impeccable. He would stab with his long left jab and then unload, stab and unload. I agree with buzz. Despite the mancrush I had on Hagler throughout the late 70s and 80s, I always thought Monzon was the best middleweight ever and nobody has come along to change my opinion

The Hagler that fought Antuofermo the 1st time or against Duran, loses to Monzon at his best. The Hagler that fought Sibson or Hearns, gives Carlos a beating.
