My concern prior wasnt as to if shane could ko williams , i was confident he could , but i was concerned as to if he could do the 12 rounds , and ill be honest he was knackered so id still have questions over that but he now knows what 12 rounds feels like , hopefully it gives him a bit of a platform to earn some good money while the chance is there to do so as all the cruiserweights in the british top 10 will probably fancy there chances .

But for now - go and smash the pubs in bulwell shane , make sure next time you come to spar you bring that belt to show us down at bronx gym .

I know I can be a bit of a broken record when it comes to allegedly professionalism, but one fairly small thing really got my goat last night. The commentary team and all the graphics referred to warmachine as Larry Oluwamibo rather than Olubamiwo. I'll admit it takes some noticing written down but the difference between "Bamiwo" and "Wamibo" when heard is plenty enough to jar.

Usually this sort of thing happens when its an unknown eastern european of african with an uncertain background and ambiguous boxrec record and not a fighter from the stable of the promoter whose TV channel is airing the fight and who has appeared on TV a number of times.

It's the little things in life that really bug me!

Agressive, didn't use the jab much, tried to get in close without punching his way in. Didn't give his height on here but he doesn't fight his height, and assuming he fought at SMW I would say he could look at dropping down possibly a few divisions if he could, as if he fights someone with a good uppercut. with the style he employed Friday, he'd be on the floor in minutes.

But for a debutant, against a fighter who's possibly only plan was the clinch, he did well. Future Prospect? It's hard to tell after one fight.

Anyone had the chance to speak to McGuire since this, might be insensitive I know but I wonder what his thoughts are..... will it be back to the drawing board or maybe back into "retirement" (did he ever officially retire)..... it will be a crying shame, no one can take away he was a world class amateur and really looked to have the style for the pro game. I disagreed with the commentators.... yes he won the first three rounds, but he didn't look himself from the start. Didn't look like the fighter I was raving about.

I hope it will not be one of these comebacks that will end after 1 setback, that we so often see. I hope, like Derry Matthews, he licks his wounds and gives it a good old go.

It's not like you to be so bold about a result. I'm not sure why you're so confident about it. Sexton's a well-schooled boxer and has shown a very good chin. Olubamiwo is up against it.

I've never been at all impressed by Sexton. Olubamiwo is a least a very strong puncher. You'll see on Friday.
