Floyd has a habit though of fighting the supposed "man" of the devision immediately AFTER he has just lost in the upset of the year.

So hope for Khan still.

thought kahn nicked iut by 1 pt.
thought the ref was over excitable and not clear at times though Khan deserved what he got.

regarding mr tba ..shouldnt have been there but too much being made of it.

End of the day GBP and team khan were too cocky overlooked the man in his home town and got whats coming to them.

Should be a rematch though but more due to closeness of fight and point deductions than this lot of smoke and mirrors.

I see after roachs comments the IBF have now done a Uturn on their original announcement that Ameen is on of their officials.

Thats a strange one, how can you announce a guys works for you, then say actually after further investigation he doesnt work for us.

So now he is just some random guy sitting at the officials table. Well im booking tickets for haye v vitali when it happens, i know where ill be sitting might even help the officials out a litlle bit, pass around the scoring cards, you know the usual things an unauthorised spectator can do  .

Springfield, NJ, January 8, 2012 - At this point in time the IBF has decided to break its silence and provide some clarification on the matter of Mr. Mustafa Ameen’s presence at the IBF/WBA championship bout between Amir Khan and Lamont Peterson. Initially, the organization chose not to publicly address this matter to preserve the integrity of the hearing scheduled for the appeal filed by Golden Boy promotions on the ruling of the aforementioned bout. The sole purpose in doing so was with the intentions that all parties, and most importantly, the panelists could go into this hearing with clear minds and no preconceptions or prejudices.

Mr. Mustafa Ameen does outreach work for the IBF’s SARB/Education Fund. This fund was initially created to financially assist retired professional boxers experiencing monetary difficulties. Shortly over a year ago, IBF President Daryl Peoples and Mr. Ameen agreed that he would network on behalf of the organization with the purpose of connecting with these fighters in order for the IBF to provide them with some financial assistance. Mr. Ameen’s role with the organization is limited to just this. He is not an employee or an official of the organization, nor does he receive any monetary compensation from the organization for his efforts.

Previous to the Khan-Peterson bout, the IBF made a request for the Washington, D.C. Boxing and Wrestling Commission to extend Mr. Ameen the courtesy of a credential to enter the arena. Mr. Ameen was not assigned by the IBF to officiate this bout. Despite all that has transpired, at this point the IBF has not changed its stance and plans on moving forth with the hearing as scheduled on Wednesday, January 18, 2012. Mr. Ameen will be present at the hearing to explain his actions and what transpired during the bout between him and Mr. Welsh, the WBA supervisor.

And after all that, they announce the rematch will be mandatory by the WBA, and Khan immediately looks past Peterson and starts talking about being able to make the Mayweather fight by the end of the year.
This guy is deluded, arrogant, overrated and a fool. I want to see him in with Mayweather just to be spitefully taught a lesson. Careful what you wish for Khan, you'll do well to get past Peterson let alone the annihilation you'd get off Floyd.

The photo is something for his apologists to drool over. It's his famous MMS message.

This whole shit storm is just to force a rematch, because they were so cock sure of their chances against their opponent they didn't insert a rematch clause. When Peterson started receiving other offers, they launched weekly campaigns against the ref, then the judges then a random chancer wearing a credential.

They've blamed everyone for the loss bar themselves.

It's been fun, seeing so many of his supporters defend the indefensible, squirming around and trying to change the topic.

His bad sporting attitude coupled with plain odd studio appearances on ringside and the super six final merely add to the fun.

It's only going to get worse from here too.

He won't stop Peterson, so he'll either lose again or eek out a points decision at Mandalay bay with Joe Cortez pushing Lamont away when he gets close.

He will have gone life and death twice with a man Tim Bradley toyed with 120-107.

To be fair, with Khan's style, especially early, I can see him forcing a stoppage against Peterson. Peterson being hurt KNOCKED OUT by Khan and him getting stopped are two different things. I could see a Khan TKO1 - not saying it's likely, but I could see it.

Pretty much agree with this apart from the fact that they didn't insert a rematch clause. It wasn't an oversight, they weren't allowed by the Ali act, I think as Peterson was a mando.

all of this is a nice cover for the fact that khan gave a weak performance, showing more style than substance. ok, it was a good fight and khan did show some bravery, but khan faded vs a guy that tim bradley tore into, winning at least 10 of the 12 rds.

Thats right i think he was the IBF manditory, Khan didnt even have to put his other belt on the line but thought it would be a bit of a joke if he didnt.

To be fair though they look like easily fixed problems, in the tenth when khan held his ground he really hurt peterson. If he stops running around and actually digs his feet in when he throws his combos he will stop alot of fighters imo. He doesnt need to run away he just needs to use angles and dart in and out. Also i have no doubt he will be in the gym learning how to fight on the inside or the mayweather defence techniques.

Yep, weaknesses that Khan has had forever will be fixed easily in one training camp and turn him into a defensive master a la Mayweather.

khan is certainly not a young developing fighter. he matured early and was able to win a medal at the olympics. he has been a pro since 2004/5 the same as bradley, maidana, alexander and peterson. if anything he's begining to get bashed up quite a bit in his recent fights( although the standard of opponent is improving). Khan has relied on his exceptional speed and athleticism, and its taken years of work under roach to get his defence from absolute shite to just about acceptable. I would be putting my money on peterson to improve more than khan in the rematch. and whatever is left of khan after that fight is gonna be smashed to pieces by bradley. khan will not get better, hes had it too easy for too long

I have serious doubts that Khan is going to improve also - unfortunately, he's not really got much in the way of ring smarts - he simply cannot adapt when things go against him. He's got heart and he can rally from adversity, but his gameplan never really changes.

He also seems to always start fast and then fade in the latter half.

He barely made it past maidana and lost to Peterson, his best win - Kotelnik or a past it and mentally fragile Judah, either way, Khan simply isn't that good. Great handspeed, very good accuracy, but little guile or technical ability to put together a strategy - he simply moves a lot and fires a lot of shots - Khan also lacks the power to keep good fighters honest.

Khan is I would say a B level fighter, fringe world class, the likes of Bradley are an A-, Mayweather, Pacman, MArquez etc an A* - it's about levels, and I think Khan quite simply has found his.

If khan stops running around, he will get hit. The reason he moves so much, is his defence is poor, Khan has been boxing at a high level since the age of 16 as an amateur - his style suited the ams, where he could pick and poke with his fast hands and simply move without fear of getting in a fight.

true a good am style does not always translate into a good professional style, but i think Khans got a lot more potentialad can work on his weaknesses.

I concur. All the evidence is there but, wow, Khan plays on the ignorance of his fans and really knows how to create a lot of smoke & mirrors. He's an elite spin doctor, not an elite boxer.

B class is about right.

I agree 100%. Khan is good but not outstanding. It surprises me that people thought that someone who struggled at domestic level would ever become elite. What really surprises me is the number of people on here who are taking it as a given that khan will win the rematch.
