Sprott has looked sharp since he became Wladimir Klitschko's sparring partner. He gave Alexander Dimitrenko more than he could handle last September. Pulev has been gaining weight and he hasn't looked as good in his past few fights.

So I think it will be at least a somewhat competitive fight.

I think Sprott gets into the sparring partner mode when he fights now, in every fight recently his corner have been on at him to up his workrate/performance. He seems to not lead off in a fight, when he decided to in the Dimitrenko fight he did well, but then went back into a more passive role

Sprott pulled out at the end of the 9th round. After a decent first round when he cut Pulev (poss head) it was one-sided really. Sprott showed little ambition. Pulev was cautious but prob won every round. sprott looked overweight

I think Pulev has regressed in his last 3 fights, maybe he's not trained as hard as he should. I think he has it in him to win a Euro title, can't see him going to world class.

With the greatest of respect to Julius I don't think Sprott is anywhere near that bad yet. Francis used to barely throw a punch late on in his career from the Skelton fight onwards, he lost pretty much all his fights from then on via shutouts if my memory serves me correctly, mostly because he would hardly throw any punches, Sprott on the weekend didn't seem to make the fight competitive, but in his last few fights before that he has been beaten handily but I don't think he has lost many fights where he has lost every single round.

Rogan, Sexton, Skelton or possibly Towers are the only other guys he might defend against in the first few months of the year. I think Sprott is still more credible than any of them.

The other thing to follow on from what Oliver said is I notice in terms of weight Sprott always seems a lot lighter when he fights the Brits. For his 2 fights with Audley he weighed in something like 10lbs (this is off the top of my head, you can change my display name to stato if you like) lighter than the fights he had either side of those fights. He seems to be a lot more motivated for these fights than for his recent trips on the continent. Back in his younger days he seemed to rock up in shape and ready to go when he held the European Union title but unfortunately now age is catching him up. I think he should try and get some good wins here and build up an English title challenge or something like that.

Michael had five days notice to train for this fight, we shouldnt be too harsh. If he is not in training he has the kind of frame that will put weight on easy enough too.

Michael would be a hard sale for a shot at Fury, he needs a couple of wins at least, maybe put him in with the winner of Price v McDermot. At least we will then know if he's got anything left on these shores.
