Sonny Bill Williams has answered the taunts of Clarence Tillman and accepted his challenge to fight for the New Zealand Heavyweight title on February 8th.

Williams' original opponent, Richard Tutaki, has been scrapped from the card after it was revealed he's facing a raft of criminal charges.

However Tillman has verbally agreed to fight another former rugby league play in Solomon Haumono on February 17.

He says he's happy to fight both of the fights, as long as it can be arranged between both parties.

The six foot five, 34 year old has won eleven fights and lost eight.

Will be an interesting fight. Clarence can punch real good when allowed to. If SBW hasnt improved heaps from his last fight he will get knocked out for sure.

Clarence has a month to train, hopefully he get's it together if he does he'll beat SBW. Craig surprised you let this one happen. (although I guess you'll be in Tillman's corner?)

I don't think this fight will happen either but if it does then I'd have a wager with you. But you probably wouldn't give me the 3 bucks (atleast) that the TAB would give me. Tillman however big and unfit he might be boxes. SBW hasn't learn't how to yet. Fighting hand picked 43 olds is a bit different. SBW would of easily beat Tutaki, But it probably would of been watchable for a round or so and then probably been a shut out points win (unless Tutaki couldn't make it past the 4th) Tillmans easily going to make it past the 4th, the 6th and all the way. He'll stop him if it's a ten round fight. If this fight does happen it will be what you're all waiting to see. Sonny Bill fall on his arse. Personally I'd like to see him make his way up slowly and see how good he can become - maybe Afa Tatupu or Jason Williams, but 40 bucks pay per view? Maybe it's better if this charade ends before we're all skint.

At this point of posting, Dunny Bill is still fighting that TBA bloke.

Clarence, whose physique is the antithesis of Dunnys', is much more ring wise, with a record of 11(6) - 8(2) - 2, despite only fighting 4 rounders in his last 3 fights (and winning).

He even went 12 rounds against Lucas Browne, who is no slouch of a hitter, ableit not winning any rounds back in August '11. If this mooted match ever comes off, Boxa Promotions will be a tad worried about the 6 knock-outs on Clarence's resume.

Should be a good challenge for Sonny, maybe a step too far too soon

This is Clarence Tillman we're talking about right? If SBW can't beat him on his 5th visit to the ring he'll may as well hang em up.

Clarence is a good bench mark, however in no way shape or form a threat to any real top 10 heavy's in this country. Maybe this will let SBW know to stick to Rugby.

This would be the only thread i've seen everyone predicting Tillman to win.....hilarious!

Clarence went 12 rounds with Lucas Brown, he took some big shots in that fight. And although the score cards say it was completley one sided. There were a few rounds that were competitive with Lucas just doing enough to take them rounds.

Sonni Bill isnt a boxer, He has little to no tecnique or skill. Clarence is a boxer and can slip punches and throw decent shots.

Rumour has it, SBW is now negotiating with Rohit Singh, who apparently has 20 KO wins prior to listed wins http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_ ... &cat=boxer
