I agree Lewis hasnt the legs or lungs to win that way.

But if he came out Ruddock-Golota-Grant style? Could be tough for Frazier...

Lennox didn't respect them, he would fight Joe as cautiously as he did Holyfield & Tyson. I suppose he could hold his way to an ugly decision. But Joe is a tough guy to clinch, I really don't like his chances. That right hand would be hard to land on Joe bobbing and weaving and chewing his nipples a second later.

See, some people take the view Lewis went after them because he DID respect them, because he saw a threat and wanted to bury it.

I dont know, personally. I just know Frazier would struggle, and so would Lewis.

In this case I fully concur. That would be a fight I would not bet on. And I feel anything could happen. My opinion is that neither fighter has much in the way of an obvious disadvantage (once you shake it all out), that the other could EASILY exploit.

Lewis was a better fighter overall than Mathis, but Buster was a better boxer and yes faster. At his peak (before the diabetes ensured him great inactivity and physical decline) he would've been a very tough task for Lewis, tougher than the likes of Tua, Rahman, Grant, Morrison, Botha, Bruno etc.

My guess is that by round 4 or 5 you know who the winner is. It's either over or Joe is coming on...

Lewis was never comfortable fighting at a fast pace and Joe could really set a pace. But Lennox often dealt with threats early, especially if he thought they were a danger to him.

Frazier gets stopped early by Dempsey.

Frazier knocks Lewis out.

Bowe vs Frazier to me is a hard one, Frazier via decision. I wouldnt bet on it though.

Styles make fights, eh?
Which way would you be betting?
Frazier UD Bowe. Harder to call with Lewis. Smokin' Joe could get the KO...

Louis KO6 Frazier - Frazier has a chance of a mid-late rounds stoppage if he can last that long, but odds are, he doesn't.

Dempsey TKO5 Frazier - I think this fight could go either way, but I give Dempsey a (very) slight edge. Frazier wins the rematch on points.

Lewis TKO8 Frazier - I agree, this is a very interesting scenario. One reason I favour Lewis is that the punches he was most vulnerable to were the jab and right cross - neither of which Joe is going to trouble him with. At his best, Lewis defended very well against left hooks and I never saw him hurt to the body. I think Lewis either comes out firing and puts Frazier away early, or boxes cautiously and eventually wears him down. Of course, the chin of Lewis could not withstand a flush Frazier left hook, so that is always a danger.

Frazier KO10 Bowe - Competitive fight, both men hurt, but I see Frazier stopping Bowe late with a huge left hook.

Not saying the reverse isnt true, but if hes favourite over those two, its not more than 55-45.

I especially wonder how Lewis would approach Frazier. Would it be the Tua strategy, utilise your huge size advantages and lean on the smaller man, taking few risks, or take the Ruddock angle and try to bomb out a dangerous guy with a balls-out assault (Lewis had a huge overhand right, remember)?
Frazier is no Tua....Frazier in his prime was one of the greatest slippers of a jab...he never lost a fight for want of trying either or ever entered it mentally unready as Ruddock was against Lewis......and Lewis is the same guy outjabbed by Frank Bruno.....Lewis jab would not be a factor with Joe....

I think Joe gets on the inside and although Lewis's strength and uppercuts would wobble him , Lewis is no Foreman as much as he tried to watch his tapes under Emmanuel Steward.....I think Joe dictates the pace early on and hurts Lewis and by the 6th he has broken Lewis heart......happily hooking to the head and body...Joe finally slugs a exhausted Lewis to he canvas in round 10.

Dempsey beats Joe. Bowe would be knocked out similarly to Lewis in the 8 or 9th....and Louis outpoints Joe.

For me

Beats Louis on points
Loses to Lewis on points wide
Beats Bowe on points
As for Dempsey unsure.

For LL see Foreman, only worse, with the uppercuts almost decapitating Joe.

Joe beats Dempsey, equally as relentless, if not more so.

Bowe: Loses a thriller on points.
Someone is a big Lewis fan

I think thats a plausible scenario, too. As is Lewis winning early.

Lewis being more devastating to Frazier than Foreman in 73? No chance.

Frazier tkos Joe Louis mid rounds...Fraizers relentlessness, left hook, too much for Louis' chin.
Frazier destroys Jack Dempsey early. Dempsey waaaaaay overrated.
Fraizer late tko Riddick Bowe & Lennox Lewis....both give Fraizer hell early...but Joe's relentless attack eventually wears them out.

Frazier beats them all most likely. Though I would not bet on the Lewis affair. I think we've seen these before.

I like the Bowe fight the best. Just cuz.

Sorry Dempsey, but i gotta strongly disagree with ya again. I think Bowe and Lewis are Absolute Horrible style matchups for Frazier. In my book of analysis, they both prevail over Joe, Bowe in 8 and Lewis in 6. I DO think Joe wins over Dempsey though. By decision,by way of overworking the Manassa Mauler. Relatively good style matchup for Joe. As far as the other Joe,Mr Louis,I'll have to say with a bit of reluctancy,Joe does very good for awhile But Louis lands too often and this results in a 9th rd tko, after 2 kd's and excessive combos, but Frazier has no quit but ref gets scared and stops it. On a side note,I'm surprised and a tad bit disappointed this thread didnt have Marciano or guys like Jack Johnson,Floyd Patterson and Gene Tunney also listed as hypotheticals.
